Default Extracting data text files from CD?

Ok, I'm sure this was stated or asked....only a thousand times.

I modded carthage for the original RTW about...8 months ago. I forgot what I changed and of course...never backed up my files. Is there a program where I could extract the text files from the CD without a complete reinstall?

This is in the wrong forum. Moved to the TW Tech Help Center.

I don't believe there is a way to extract specific RTW data text files from the CDs. You'll just have to do a reinstall.

The easiest thing to do is to rename the "Rome - Total War" folder to something else. Then go to Add / Remove Programs under the control panel and uninstall the game. You will not lose anything under the renamed folder. Then reinstall the game as normal. Now you have 2 copies of the game, just overwrite the correct files and rename the current "Rome: Total War" folder to something else and rename the old RTW folder back to where it was.
