    Did you save this system.log after the crash, before you restarted the game? As you may know the log will overwrite itself once you restart the game

    Yeah, this is the log from the crash. The few second delay between anything happening and the unspecified error in the log was me waiting in the game before clicking the end turn button to trigger the crash.

    Exactly the same issue here while playing as Scotland. I am not however sieging anything it just started out of nowhere..

    Yeah, I realized that sieging didn't cause it when I broke the siege and still got it. If it is tied to the end of turn 19 then maybe it's an event or trigger; something that is specific to that turn end?

    So I am having a problem and cant figure it out. I get the campaign all set up and hit start in the faction selection screen and the game runs into a "unspecified error and will now exit". How do I fix this?

    It should be in Medieval II Total War / mods / Titanium_Alpha

    If it isn't maybe you installed it incorrectly, have you tried reinstalling?

    Okay, so I figured it out. I did a clean instal putting my main M2TW file on my desktop outside of program files. After I did this, it is all working very well.

    Just got around to playing again and thanks gsthoed for that fix because that sub-mod was causing my CTD... However, I have a new one lol.

    So this time I'm playing as Venice and I was in diplomacy with Sicily, trying to barter the purchase of Naples and Ancona, when there was a CTD. I had just clicked to confirm a deal and the game crashed immediately. Here is the last bit of my log if it helps; I'm assuming the cause is to do with something in the last 5 entries.

    EDIT: I tested multiple times and it only crashes if I try purchasing Naples, all other cities work fine, but for some reason buying Naples makes my game crash

    I'll try to replicate this bug. Your log seems normal up to the last line. If you try to do the purchase with a princess, please repeat it with a diplomat and report back what you find.

    Hmmm - seems to be something wrong inasmuchas the King gets a diplomacy trigger
    but shouldn't the triumphs_in_capture should only fire after a successful siege ?
    It affects VictorVirtue so shouldn't be associated with a diplomatic transfer.
    (But why it only affects Naples I've no idea, unless there is someone special in Naples when it is transferred ?)

    Not necessarily. It fires with a GeneralCaptureSettlement event. When you sell/buy a settlement or when it rebels, a small army of the new owner is created inside the settlement, which fires that event. I agree with the argument that VictorVirtue should not be assosiated with these cases, but there is no worry here, because the newly created general is a captain, so he cannot acquire traits.

    I managed to purchase venetian Bari with sicilian Naples without any issues. However, during testing, I've encountered a similar CTD. It is in Kwarezm's turn, there is a spy mission that took place and, after this, there is a trade agreement. Sometimes the CTD was happening before the trade agreement. This is the log report:

    I haven't phase such bug before; I have no idea what might cause this.
    For a temporary fix, I'd try this (sorry, I have forgotten to try it myself): Open console before staring the negotation, type
    Code:
    disable_vnvs
    and repeat after the negotation.

    Might be an idea to check the system log to see what is supposed to happen after those lines, ie where diplomacy doesn't cause a problem ?
    See what fires next.

    I've just had a battle CTD - although it was actually after the battle took place, complete with the victory screen with the numbers.
    But before the screen clears.
    I checked the system log and it happens after the BAI resets itself (all the counters)
    but before anything else happens.

    I'm thinking maybe a traits thing for the winning general ?
    Or there was a problem caused by 3 enemy generals dying (from 2 different factions) on the same turn ?
    (Epic defence of Cairo from a crusade vs French and Scottish armies. - actually quite easy )

    Looks like I'll have to fight it again as the save game was just before the battle took place.

    It crashes to desktop; there is nothing after those lines.

    It should have left a log entry about the corresponding trigger
    If the crash is repeative and if you live in a country with time savings (or how that thing that at a point of the year the clocks must be turned one hour forward and the opposite at another night), it might be worth to try the daylight saving time fix. It is reported that helps in battle crashes in TATW, but I don't know if this could be true in this mod.

    Sorry - too cryptic.
    I was suggesting checking back in the system log to see if a similar event occurred which did not result in a CTD.

    I've never encountered the daylight savings thing before.
    Seems unlikely.
