Ahhh, my body is ready. Those animations are glorious. I can see why there is only 3 rows, the unit size is simply not conducive to more than that....that said I shall quickly mod the number of men in a phalanx to give me those 5 rows![]()

Good work Jack, although you really should change the encoding for you videos. Alright then, maybe it's time to finally pre-order the bloody game.
The pikes look good. But the battles need blood.
That was an awesome video. I cannot wait to play this game.
I hope that was a little clue that they have used the illustrious BB's awesome booming voice talents again?

Well I am very impressed with the Phalanx combat. Those arrow puffs need to go though.

It is nice, but one animation I think it is wrong. At first I thought it was because the game was still unfinished, then I thought they will would correct it and when I asked they say that's the animation to show that your troops are exhausted
from all points of view it is incorrect to run in that position with half of your body bent toward the front
when you are are exhausted and carry shields helmet spears swords ect....you simple WONT RUN, you barely walk and I would wanted for that routing units, some of those soldiers to drop their shields and maybe weapon if they run for their lives in an NOT so perfect order
Also, in all the movies so far I noticed that missing a certain animation which was present in Shogun2 and now I wonder if it will ever appear in ROME2, it's about those soldiers who are dying, there is no more "dying soldiers" ?
I've never seen anyone hurt to give his life a few moments later, now everyone dies instantly?
That is true, however in the ancient world I'm sure those on the floor would either be crushed to death anyway or felt a warrior's boot stomp on their head. This would be a bit too graphic for some, I think. I suppose its kind of like why you didn't see samurai head-hunting in Shogun 2.
Look at the last min of the rally point video, I think with those wounds, no doubt they will die instantly.
Remember when they got their head chopped off or a hit in the chest/torso in S2, they drop like a brick. Only some fighting animation and when arrow hit, we see dying men in the battlefield. What we just saw in the video is only a glimpse of what we will have in R2.
Yeahh Phalanx and YEEAAAHHHH Adriana.
Will Brian Blessed be doing any voice acting for Rome 2?
The phalanx looked pretty good, but it's too small imo I hope that isn't he largest unit size setting...

Under the patronage of Nihil. So there.
Thanks for vid. At least the phalanxes are still good and remain enjoyable to play it seems.
Happy with phalanx. People were worried it would collapse when front charged by a peasant mob, but it seems to have the strength of formation to stand against foes.
