Default Problem with graphics card? need help!

I will start off by saying I am no computer person, my theories on the problem I experience may therefore be totally wrong. I have a crap little laptop with an ATI Radeon IGP 345M, it runs slow and often lags but it plays RTW ok, or atleast it DID. It is a Sony VAIO bought back in 2004, but I just recently found a slightly updated driver for it on Sony.com, so I dowloaded it. At first it worked a little better than normal, then a few days later, it would freeze for a split second then completly crash, requiring me to puysh the power button to restart it. I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled my old driver and it then crashed consitently about 7 minutes into gameplay. I then used my recovery disks to reboot my system to its original state, and it now crashes even sooner, about 2 - 3 minutes into gameplay. I have downloaded the old driver fresh and it still crashes shortly into gameplay. Even other games such as Halo crash just the same. I realize this is probably to vague a problem for a passerby to help with, but if you have experienced this, or are an expert at this sort of thing could you please respond, or email me at diemrt@email.uc.edu, thanks.

sounds like you cheaped out on something. Go to atis website and look under unsupported. If it says unsupported you cheaped out.
Thats how i found out my graphics card was crap. It crashes alot too but most of the time it is fairly stable and i save my game often.

I have a Compaq laptop with the IGP 380m chipset and RTW sucks. My best advice is to reformat the whole hard drive back to when you bought it and then reinstall. When you start having more than 1 driver for your graphics, it can lead to all sorts of problems. Plus by reformating to the beginning, you will notice your computer being faster.
