Hi, you'll need to post in the agora to purchase from there, and in moderator thread to change the crop. I know the threads are closed, but please update it there too once I open them.

Also, a picture for the house/villa would be awesome.

A slave leads Xenophon through the marble corridors past rich tapestries and marble pillars. Eventually he arrives outside Alexander's private study. The slave knocks cautiously on the door.
A gruff voice inside calls "Come in." The door opens and you see a man with modestly length pron hair and his beard already speckled with grey. He looks up from some ledgers he was examining.
"Hello, and you are?" He asks.

The tall, powerful, somewhat weathered man in his late 30's with some facial scars walks in with the grace of an expert horsemen steps in and says with the accent of an educated noblemen

    Xenophon.

The ex Mercanary captains walks across the room with long powerful strides then takes stock of the trader and says

I have heard that, Alexander of Pallas, that you are one of the most astute traders in the city. I have a pile of cash from my time as a solider of fortune and have bought and estate but would like to invest the rest of it and fix a contract to sell the grain from my estate

When I was Asia killing Persians, they didnt exactly have the opportunity to explain to me the finer points of Finance and commerce from the business end of a lance.

OOC: Currency in the anicent world was mostly sliver until the time of imperial rome, the Dramacha, the standard athenian coin is about an ounce of sliver

The aristocrat gives a small smile and says

To create contacts and dealers for the produce of my estate and to help you develop grain producing estates to improve the food supply of our great city. And also so we may come to a sort of compact between the esteemed and ancient landowners and the tireless and astute merchants of Athens.

OOC: Sorry, I've been getting server errors, and been dealing with my disabled brother

Xenophon pulls out a bag heavy with various kinds of sliver, some of it stained with barbarian blood and says

Here, thats equal to six mina of Silver

OOC: 100 drachmas to a mina

"So," Alexander says getting a bottle of wine and two cups out from under his desk and pouring it. "Are you planing on running in the coming election?"

The slave gestures for the man to follow. After a while they are brought to a large sitting room after a few minutes Alexander comes and sits down in one of the chairs.
"Hello I have been lead to understand you have business with me. May I ask who your name sir?"

Lysandros, younger son of Aristocles. I have an idea which would benefit both of us.

    Lysandros sighs in exasperation.
Games, man! Games! This city needs games. But my father will not let me take any money from the treasury. But perhaps you could convince him to throw games in honor of a God. And I will spread the word that it is due to you that they have the pleasure of the games. I tell you, it will please both aristos and demos.

Alexander smiles widely. "You are right the city does need games. If your father will not throw them I will fund them myself. Most of the council seems worried about their little wars never thinking about the peoples opinions. I say games in the name of Athena. The pepole will love it. I will talk with your father to see if the state will chip in but if not consider my coffers open to fund the games lad."
