Remember this is a video game, not a ship simulator.
However, when the ships explode into a million pieces when rammed looks odd to me. I think a crack in the hull and a slow sink would be much more fun.

A very nice video indeed, apart from ramming which seems a bit too much exaggerated to me.
Sails were rarely used because the wind in a battle caused more problem than benefit, remember that sails two thousand years ago weren't the sails we see four hundred years ago. And of course there was the problem of flaming arrows.
So im the first who has complains?!?
Ok... i hate it that Al dont zoom in haha
Nice but the speed is just too much. Definitely going to need some modding here. Besides that it looks great, boarding looks really cool now and very dynamic.
Under Patronage of MARCVS
many failure to have the naval battle.
unrealistic shock boat, the boat is all crumbs and water, or a steel boat could do that.
and those smoke troops leaving when hit by projectiles are horrible.
the explosion like a firecracker when a boat hits another perfect hostel.
CA are not thinking at the time of making a game that is credible and hype these arcade plan crashes.
I'm already seeing more than one boat going with such ramming all that is his path and sinking boats in a moment, because that is another all the boats leave in a second and a second sink.
it increasingly seems an arcade game rather than a strategy game.
some do not even know what is a strategy game and they will be very happy.
but in the realismo.la strategy game immersion, historicity and the strategy itself is what makes a good game

strategy and realism is not the same. You can create a very strategic game which will be unrealistic ( with magics, aliens, fantasy weapons, surhuman power ect... ect... ). So stop say if it is not realistic, it is not strategic. Strategy is about decisive décisions which make the difference in battlefield/campaign, not about the historical accuracy of the sandalls .....

You don't even deserve to be reasoned with. Especially when I take into account your previous moronic outbursts.
True. It's ridiculous too fast. I am personally fine with the speed of the last land battle videos, but the speed of naval combat doesn't seem to make naval battle fun at all.
PS: i hope barbarians will not get those super-mega-ships at the campaign start, but after some proper tech research.
I had great success in Fall of Samurai naval battles by keeping my distance and out maneuvering them. That will be trickier in Rome II with the need to get within range of bowmen. I wonder if bowmen aboard ships will have limited ammunition and I wonder if ships with catapults aboard will be fast enough to keep a safe distance from the enemy.
Very cool vid!! At last TW games will have the naval combat they deserve!!
Realy cool !!!
