    Default The Parthenon, Acropolis

The Parthenon is a temple on the Acropolis, dedicated to the maiden goddess Athena, the patron of Athens. The construction began in 447 BC and completed in 438 BC.

Citizens visit the temple to worship, give offerings to Athena, and to announce the start of games in her honor. The high priest serves as the keeper of the keys to the temple. The life of any person inside the temple is inviolable, and cannot be harmed.

Thermistocles makes his way into the stunning Temple of Athena. The old man ached having limped his way to the top of the Acropolis, but the beautiful temple was worth it. He entered bearing his offerings to the Goddess, wine and fruit, silver and seeds he placed all of these things near the altars and knelt to pray for guidance.

The very old high priest comes up to him, beckoning the temple workers to take the offerings to Athena. He says to Thermistocles.
Athena smiles upon this city. But I do not help but thing you came to ask for something.

Thermistocles bows his head. "Only our Goddess' blessings on the endeavours our city is about to undertake. My old friend, Aristocles, is named Archon once more and these are troubled times. I would see both our city and him come through this storm safely. I ask our Goddess to watch over us all."

    The priest smiles.
The Gods watch over all. But if you want any sign, I will suggest you to take an offering from the city to Delphi for the Oracle.

Thermistocles smiles grimly. "I was afraid you would say that. I shall do so soon enough. For now priest I would like to pray alone for a while." The One Eye spent the next few hours in silent prayer and contemplation before limping his way back down the Acropolis. When he returned he spoke with his son. "I will go to Delphi soon enough my son. There are things I must speak of with the Oracle."
