Did CA ever give a reason for no demo? Rome had a demo, Medieval 2 had a demo, Empire had a demo, Napoleon had a demo, Shogun 2 had a demo....So what is wrong with Rome 2? The silence as to why no Rome 2 demo has me worried. What are they worried about? Does the game stink and they don't want us to get a whiff? Is CA/Sega going to dump Rome 2 on us and walk away from any more TW games? Are they so arrogant now that they think they "don't need to give us a demo" prior to release?

They gave a reason. It takes time to make a demo. They would rather spend that time on making sure the game is ready for release. It's nice to see you came up with so many "logical" reasons why there isn't one though.

Well, he does have a point. CA has let us down in the past. Empire and Shogun 2 are perfect examples. Buggy releases and no hot fixes.. just long wait times for huge updates. Maybe it is a good thing they are taking the time to actually work on a polished game this time instead of releasing a DEMO. Though I couldn't see how they couldn't just take one of the historical battles as always and just release that. As far as I can see if they are able to play battles at E3 there isn't realy a reason they can't get a demo going for the general public.

I didn't get Shogun 2 at release but I've heard that it was their most bug-free vanilla game yet. I know Napoleon got it's demo AFTER the game was released. I would expect something similar to happen with Rome 2.

    Categorically no demo
Will even joked about the likelihood of a serious demo in this thread:
