    Default New Armor/wepons upgrade effect!

    I just bought the PC Gamer, and there's an interview that it said that the upgrade system will be different.
    When a unit is upgraded, it's weapon will be changed ex: If for a spear unit, when it upgrades, his spear point will get bigger.
    Cool feture, isn't it?

    Not that new
    It is actually quite old.
    You can see it in the new russian faction preview.

    I think that's been known about for a while, but yes, it's a very nice feature. Works the same way for armour as well IIRC. I think some of the latest screenshots can be seen to depict it.

    That's an excellent feature, especially with regards to unarmoured to armoured units.

    I never much liked the Weapon/Armour upgrade system in TW games, I would have much prefered for them to of used an elaborated Valour system or something along those lines. Having one units swords a touch sharper than the next ones is daft (IMO).

    I didn't knew this new , you mean that if your unit for example upgrades the armour you will be seeing a better more elaborate armour on the unit itself differing it from the lower level ones?

    That's the idea, and I think with weapons it can actually change the weapons rather then just make them look a bit better. I guess it'll be interesting for artists like you Prometheus to see how that system works?

    This cool feature will be a pain in the @$$ for modders =/ making several versions of one unit isnt so cool...

    Well depends on how much you mod .... if you alone make a big mod with units for all factions it could become a true nightmere , but if you concentrate only may be on one unit type or factions it could be interesting ..... personally I am not sure yet if to mod MTW 2 , but if I will I will do this time small mods , probably at the best small graphic croorections to the base CA units .... in other words improving the graphics....

    And there is much to improve imo.Their late knights suck.Its strange,cause some units are very good-looking.

    Yes lots of the units that appear in the weekly flash site are nice , but a lot , really a lot of units that I saw in the pictures has lot of bugs or graphical problems at least , I am not sure about historical accuracy .... but I could look into this too ^^ .... may be ..... but this time a very little pick up at time .... my time is very precious ^^ ...

    I'll be honest...so far I don't see much need to mod M2TW. So far I love the skins and the units their including...Im shocked I"m even saying this!

    But you have to remember that you have around 6,000 soldiers on screen in a normal battle so if it has Oblivion graphics and detail on every single unit you would play on 0.0000000001 fps and trust me, that is not fun

    its the same number of RTW , and thrust me , the units in MTW 2 have still less poligons than most mod made units for RTW .....

    The number of polygons wont make the model better.In such games like RTW the main thing what makes unit look cool is its skin.I mean,that some M2TW units are very poorly textured(mainly the lower ranked ones).They have ugly faces(worse than in RTW),ugy chainmail...But everything else looks nice and much better than most strategy games(maybe better than W40kMoC).

    The more poligons = the more shape details , the better the texture = the more realism and beautiness....

    I talked to the devs today and they said something along the same lines. Also, banners are added to high-valour units.
