Default Need help with experience bonus

Still play as the byzantine, got master horse breeder at corrinth and master swordsmith guild in bran. The bonus of experience should quite a lot for my cavalry. But, when I'm retrain my cavalry at Toulouse(my cav are vardariotai and Byzy Lancers) it still have 0 experience. So my money is waste for nothing, and retrain again next turn, still 0. But when I'm train my cav at bran(I'm train katatchporoi) it have excellent 3 experience. So, why my cav don't get experience when I'm retrain them? IIRC when I'm train Latinkon at Bran, it don't get experience too. What is wrong? Bugs? Did I miss something?

    And what is necro post?

Thanks everybody. Danke for your time

Yeah, it's a God damn bug, more details here.

Vlad Dracul is right in that there is an experience bug, but I don't think that is the problem you are having. To get the bonuses you want from the guilds, the units must be trained in the settlements where the guilds exist. You cannot have a guild in Bran and expect to get the benefits of it in Toulouse. This is why you are successful in your retraining only when doing it at the guild location.

Well, both master horse breeders and master swordsmith are have global effect for all cavalry train in all settlement. That's very good benefit.

I stand corrected. That's what I get for not checking first. These are not guilds I normally go for, so I can't say I've ever experienced those benefits.

Master Swordsmith has no effect on experience on ordinary cavalry. Level 1 swordsmith gives +1 to melee attack. Level 2 swordsmith gives +1 melee and +1 experience to mounted knights. Level 3 (HQ) gives +1 melee and global Heavy Cavalry Bonus +1.

I think maybe the horse breeder doesn't affect all types of cavalry. Level 1 gives +1 experience. Level 2 (Master) gives +1 global effect plus +1 at the guild location, Level 3 (HQ) gives +2 global plus +1 at the guild location.

To get around the bug, you do all your moves, then do the experience/upgrade training as the very last thing before pressing the "end turn" button. If you reload at any time before the end of the turn, the experience will be paid for but not granted.

I think Horse Breeder Guild applies to all types of cavalry (including light cavalry and horse archers).

Master Swordsmith affects only heavy cavalry (including heavy cavalry that aren't knights).

Jousting field and tourney lists only affects knights.

Ok, thanks all for your help. This game is full with bug eh? First I have to move my capital each I load my game so my merchant can trade accordingly, now I must not save my game after retrain my unit. I'm not download a patch anyway, my internet stands 0.4 kb/s.

You can save the game, just don't reload it before pressing the end turn button. If you do reload it, just go back and remove the upgrades, then add them again, then press the end turn button. You do not need to move your capital every time you reload so your merchants can trade, why do you say that? the game is not full of bugs, there are only a few and most have work-arounds. If you have M2TW Gold you don't need to download any patches. If you are worried about bugs, play the Retrofit mod, it fixes them but doesn't change the game much otherwise.

Well, in my vanila game, when my merchant trade gold in Timbuktu, it says that my merchant trading 60 florins per turn (that's before I move my capital). But after I move my capital(I'm move it from London to Caen, then back to London), it says I'm trading for 400+ per turn. But it's good you don't get the bug Sitalkes. I'm also already read this bug in another website anyway, but forgot the link though.

Well that is interesting, I never heard that one! Changing your capital has many effects. The value of resources is based on the resource that is closest to your capital. So if you have gold near London, the value of gold will be that value, no matter how far away it is. So in that case, if you had your capital near London and you moved it to Timbucktu and there wasn't any gold near Timbucktu or anywhere closer than London, then the value of gold would go up a lot. You should regularly check that your capital is at or near the centre of your empire and located at a port with significant trading ability. I'm not sure if what you are describing is a bug or just the normal consequences of changing your capital. It is also possible that the merchant's ability has been upgraded, you have a new trade agreement with that country, a road has been opened (after having an enemy sitting on it), or that the 400 number is an estimate so when the new turn starts it gives the real number, not the estimate. Also, change your capital prior to receiving a reward from the Council of Nobles to the location where you want to receive the reward. For instance, the Council of Nobles say you will get a unit of knights for taking the rebel city of Nottingham and you need those knights in York. Your capital is in London. Just prior to taking Nottingham, change your capital to York. When you get the troops in York, change your capital back to London.

That's very good suggestion ! Many thanks to you. But about my merchants, I'm change my capital in same turn when I'm see how many florins I got from that merchant, so that's in the same time, not after few turns later. About placement of my capital, I'm choosing the city that have most profit at my faction summary screen. For instance, when choose London that have, I have 2000 florins of profit at my summary screen. But when I move my capital to Caen, my faction summary profit is now 2500. Because that, I'm choose Caen as my capital. But of course the most profitable capital is in the middle of your empire.
