    Default Help with teutonic fix for 6.4

    I downloaded the patch for 6.4 to program files(x86)/sega/medieval II total war/mods/ss6.3/data and it has it's own file in that location with 2 different options when clicked on(RR enabled/disabled).I use RR on during campaigns.When I click in RR enabled folder it opens to a export_descr_buildings.txt on notepad.What do I do now? I read fix instructions but I clearly don't get them or did everything backwards or in wrong place because here is the directions for the patch:
    Teutonic Knights fix for v6.4


    Simply put the export_descr_buildings.txt aka EDB file in your SS6.3\data folder.
    Use the correct version if RR is enabled or disabled.

    Could some helpful person out there explain what I'm not doing/understanding and help me correct and fix it I would like to be able to have a complete early campaign with the hre that feels complete.Thanks!

    I think you did everything right, just put the right teutonic knight fix(RR on or off) in the .../ss6.3/data folder and all should be fine.

    It is really hard to recruit teutonic knights though because you need their chapterhouse and they are available to HRE only until the TO emerges. I am not 100% sure if that is true, so it is best to check the game files or wait for someone to answer the question.

    Thanks for the reply Baltic Warrior. I tried putting the edb file from the fix(RR enabled) in the data but it has it's own file from the extract in place I said above,so I tried putting it in the data folder but I saved it over the original edb file and SS wouldn't boot and kept failing to load so I screwed it up and uninstalled and reinstalling SS fresh.Before I messed up files went to 2 test camnpaigns(RR enabled,perm watchtowers,NHA,Lusted AI,BGR IV-E,early era) with HRE to see if it was installed and I didn't notice.I built up population in selected castles I controlled(Hamburg,Stettin,Magdeburg) that are able to house chapter houses.Firstly,checked bulding browser to see if it was available(it wasn't and was not sure if it would stay hidden).Then I used population cheat(don't like to just had to try n work it out)to upgrade castles to citadels and boom nothing.I thought maybe there would be n event that would trigger the guild but through 110 turns in 2 seperate HRE campaigns but it never did and then I screwed up the files as stated above and here I am again.The teutonic fix has it's own folder in /ss6.3/data folder(there are other folders related to SS i believe as well)when I click it it open to 2 folders RR enabled/RR disabled(I want RR enabled) and when clicked on opens export_descr_buldings.txt .My question now that I'm reinstalling how do I get that folder in right location and working.If I must edit edb please explain how I'm not sure about that stuff but I never had problem installing SS,NHA and archers fix but I can't get this to work and starting to feel lost and dumb because it seems no one else has a problem getting it to work.Some advice would be very helpful and greatly appreciated to all who can help me through this.

    Instead of using the fix, you can make the necessary corrections to the original EDB yourself. The Teutonic chapterhouses are located about 80% down the file. The 4th line for the major and minor houses look like this:

    teutonic_knights_minor_ch requires factions { hre, } and hidden_resource teutonic_knights_chapter_house and not event_counter inquisition 1
    teutonic_knights_major_ch requires factions { hre, } and hidden_resource teutonic_knights_chapter_house and not event_counter inquisition 1

    remove " and not event_counter inquisition 1" from these lines and the chapterhouses should work. If they're working you should get an entry right from the start of the Early Campaign in the building browser called Teutonic Order, which will show you the houses.

    NOTE: The HRE loses the ability to recruit Ritterbruders with the creation of the TO faction. They still have the houses they just can't recruit the knights.

    Ah ha! It worked like you said alufdufe now available from the designated settlements and used cheat to upgrade castle to fortress/citadel Boom! it's there.Thanks for the good advice because the lack of the order in early era kept me from playing as the reich but now I can conquer with my special religious order same as other catholic factions! Much thanks and appreciation I can't rep but if I could you would.Time to establish lebensraun for the empire now got to decide if to go east or west?Decisions,decisions.
