Enjoy the lack of any meaningful detail.

The huge maps, though visually impressive, can leave players struggling to relocate troops mid-conflict, and enemy AI often feels unfairly advantaged. If these points are fine-tuned before the game's release, it could stand as a high point for the Total War series.
Sounds like someone needs a bit of practice

haha! well for most people the way Al played it he could be considered their "pro-playa" though if we regular TW play it I am pretty sure decisive or heroic victory can be done easily.

as Macedon just use one very wide (your best) phalanx while the other two are used to box in the romans that will charge head first.
use one cavalry to harass and pull the roman cav away from the main fight and use you general and remaining cav for the good old hammer and anvil.

if the moral is anything like shogun then the romans will run away like little girls while you chase them.
    boom decisive victory.

It can be refreshing to see how someone from outside the playerbase views the game, and all the features we take for granted.

A review? But the game hasn't gone gold yet, to my knowledge.

Eh, the game is basically done, I bet they're just giving them dev access to some version of it on Steam now.

Yeah kind of average, good find though. Never even thought about the reviews for some reason! I'll be too busy playing. Hope it gets a good score just for CA's sake.

Hopefully the "unfairly advantaged" means the AI moves units around fairly quickly. I really think that Rome II will be the best in the series. Really like that its very complex and deep

Or the usual AI get boost to stats acording to the set difficulty level(basicly cheats for AI) to balance things. Anoying but thats how things have been for a long time in many strategy/RTS games.
But I agree on your hope cause then modders can quickly slow down the benny hill show

    Benny Hill...

Yes, a very apt description of the overly quick units, although I do think the speed is a lot more reasonable than Shogun 2.

I know we can get around it, but I still do not like default 'run.'

If I had never played a Total War game & read that, I would be tempted to give it a try.

On that basis I would regard it a positive article.

First I read The Guardian, then I laughed about the huge dimension of this text.
