    Default is steam safe?

hi, i want to buy the game digitally before it is released. the problem is that it will be my first online purchase. so, im quite worried about my inexperience with it. could you tell me if it is 100% sure, can lose the game in any way? is it available in argentina, and will it be more expensive due to importation? is it safe to pay with credit card assuring that my money isnt lost. is it possible that my credit card number is exploited ( meaning like that steam buys things without my authorisation)?

i just want to convince my parents to buy it, because i dont have credit card jejee

Steam is completely safe. It's used by millions of people all over the world. Your game won't be stolen, deleted, and your personal information (credit card for example) will not be shown.

Possibly the best way to play games.

The only way you can "lose" the game is if you somehow lose access to your account. I don't know of any people that have had that problem. Steam can't buy things with your card.

BTW you have to activate the game thru Steam anyways so you might as well buy it thru Steam.

Completely safe. Pricing varies depending on where you live, but it should be fair for your part of the world. I would recommend Steam to anyone PC gaming, because there are sales every day.

To reiterate what the posters above have stated, yes Steam is perfectly safe and even if you purchase the Disk version it will be activated and launched through Steam.

They wouldn't be a massive MNC if they were unsafe.

As others have said, Steam is safe. If you do ever have problems with the account there are ways to get it back as well.

You dont actually need a credit card. If a store near you sells steam gift cards, you can buy those and use the money to buy the game.

And one more thing, I have about 6 friends from Argentina who use steam regularly and they have had no problems what so ever. So you should have no worries

Once you buy the game on steam, the game will automatically install onto your computer. Just wait for a while and you'll be able to play it.

Wait for it to download, but I believe you can download the whole game before release day. That way you play at launch.

In short: It will download from steam when it done, click play and enjoy.

Unless, your system can't handles it. And that is a whole another issue though.

    Saludos.

Anything that gets connected to the internet have the potential to be hacked. Most if not all usually depends on the user him/herself being smart enough to protect their account.

To the OP you can use paypal or debitcard. I myself use debit card instead of credit card. I always keep limited funds on my debit card, usually a small amount just for online transaction. Yes there is always a possibility for credit cards to be hacked etc but it's no different than the chance of getting mugged after drawing cash from ATM machines.
