I got a weird problem after installing Third Age: total war, maybe someone here can help me, I'll describe every step I've done.
It started after installing Third Age total war, the mod didn't start because it said I didn't had the original cd or something, normally I only get this error with downloaded games I try to play and after you replace the exe file with a crack it works. Weird thing is that I have the original Medieval II gold edition installed. Medieval II and Kingdoms still worked fine, only Third Age gave this error.
So I tried solving the problem by downloading a crack for both medieval II and kingdoms, just to see if that solved the problem, because I didn't feel like uninstalling everything and instal it again + playing without inserting a CD is always nice.
After I placed the files in the folders I tried to start Third age total war again and it worked, so I thought problem solved and took the disk out, still worked perfectly. Then I started Medieval II and that worked fine as well, but when I tried to start Medieval II kingdoms the game crashed when starting. I've put the disk back in, but still Kingdoms doesn't work...
The weird thing is that Medieval II and Third Age seem to work just fine now, it's just Kingdoms that doesn't work anymore. Is this a known bug or did I do something wrong. I guess that it could be the crack, but without it Third Age seems to think that I don't have the legal disk inserted. I guess reinstalling everything will get Kingdoms back working normal, but I'm afraid that Third Age is gonna crash again.
It is weird, never had this problem before with a game from which I actually have the disks, so I guess there is some problem in the mod, maybe there is a crack for the mod only??
It would be nice if somebody knew the problem and how to solve it, for now I'm not planning on playing Kingdoms, because I've installed third age for the first time and I think I'm busy with that for a while. But it would be nice to have kingsdoms working as well for in the future, uninstalling everything every time just to play kingdoms seems a lot of work.
Otherwise I think that I'll have to reinstall kingdoms and make a backup of the original .exe file to play kingdoms and when I want to play third age replace it with the crack. That wouldn't be to much work, but it seems to me that this isn't the way it's supposed to be![]()
