This practice personaly makes my hair stand on end every time I see a Curia vote, surely in the new Curia at least we can depend on people voting and not need their assurance that they did? In light of this I propose one of the folowing
    1) Make sure these posts do not add to post count (Unless this is done already, I have no way of knowing)
    2) Block all except the Curator/Pro-curator from posting

I dont see what is wrong with the "Voted" posts, the dont hurt no one, they are no trouble, and it does allow us to see who is voted.

No, Votes is TWC Tradition, no for all the other countless reasons and times this proposal failed/never got to the voting stage.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

I never post "voted", myself. I occasionally used to when you were still allowed to say how you voted, though. I really don't care whether anyone posts "voted" or not.

The first appears to be most important . . .

We don't need to gauge participation. If we do, the admins can look at who voted.

It's sanctified Spam under the pretense of gauging activity and upholding a tradition. As Simetrical has already noted, it would be a simply matter to check for activity and even if it were used in this manner, it favors those who prefer to say "voted" over those who prefer silence and thus distorts the view of said "activity."

That said, in the future, it might be best to install a hack that would show all those who voted on any given bill without declaring how they voted for the purposes of deciding activity in an impartial and spam free method.

Get rid of the "voted" tradition? Now that's just blasphemy.

Even the best cooked meals have a little fat. 'Voted' is the spam that makes the Curia go down smooth.

not only that, but all of the traditional ways people like to say they've voted, like tGS and his longest paragraph ever, JP's "vote" <-- with an accent over the E, my "having applied votage" thing- come on man, it's a part of tradition, the mods are right.

Then atleast take away the post count in the curia votes, personaly I have done so once, a very long paragraph if I can remember, and promptly cba to do it anymore. Tradition? Is it the only one or is there more random traditions I should know of?

How can the post count be bothering you? I mean i dont care if my post count is raised or not but what difference does it make? Does it really matter?

If anything, I think all people should say whether they have voted or not, just to keep a tally of who is active or inactive at one time.

What do we care what someones post count is? Are you saying a higher postcount has some greater intrinsic value? I guess I am just at a loss as to why this even matters. If people want to say "I have voted," then I say by all means let them do it. It changes nothing. The thread is there already, there is no spill over, it is all contained in this one spot. If there were was some negative impact this was actually having I would gladly advocate its end, I just cant see what that impact could be.

What? I don't think anyone ever said the patrician voting group would be better, just that it had contributed to TWC more.

    What Boris said.
Keep it, it allows us to see who is participating and who is not, something which I think is important in this "new" curia.

Call it laziness, but putting voted in a thread after voting makes it's icon have the little circle on it, so I can at a glance look at the Curia Vote forum and know which threads I've voted in and which ones are new. Sometimes votes sit open for 1-2 weeks and its at those times that this really comes in handy.
