Default Client States Territory Should change colour somewhat

It annoys me that in previous TW games you could have many vassals but on the mini-map and campaign it would look like you have no empire, even though you are dominant, as all the vassal's look like independent states.

I would prefer if when a country becomes a client state that their territory becomes half shaded like this, to indicate it is part of your empire:

In battles, though, they can keep their normal colour (I assume this happened IRL?)

haha, no I meant in battle did they use their own banners (colours) or Romes? Or both?

So, you propose to have stripes on what exactly? The campaign map isn't like the political map mode in a Paradox game.

I would hope they kept their own colors, I'd hate to find (or not) a bunch of Waldos running around.

    Mini-map.

No I propose in battle it be the normal colours, perhaps in addition to their banner there could be a small banner of rome to show they are a client state

I don't want that clutter on my minimap. Besides, your examples are for what I assume are occupation marks during war. Nothing permanent.

I for one am in favor of minimap "clutter" of this type. Precisely because it would help in visually determining just what states are independent and which answer to a higher authority. Although vassals often didn't do much in past TW titles, it was never easy to tell who was a vassal versus who was not. Or perhaps before I get people jumping on me, it was not immediately or conveniently apparent. You certainly could go into the diplomatic tab to see the situation but it would be nice if such things were visible at a glance.

As for banner carriers for the owning faction within the vassals ranks, I rather like that idea as well. I don't know how hard or easy it would be to implement, but it would add flavor to the engagement and it would be something quite new to Total War. Of course I doubt we'll ever see anything like this, but the idea does strike me as a good one.
