Here’s a sneak peek at something you won’t have seen before – the brand new Total War Launcher that’ll be shipping with ROME II. It brings a couple of cool new features, including the ability to “continue campaign”, jumping straight back into your last save game while skipping the intro cinematics. It'll also bring the latest Total War news and videos right to your window!

I don't think there's an explanation for "mod manager" in the above?

It looks like a pre-luncher that lets you skip the main menu to go back to your game

Yeah, but do you happen to have Shogun 2? It has a mod manager, so nothing new there, sorry. Good to know they are keeping it for Rome II.

I happen to have Shogun 2, yes. (I don't know if this also applies to the Steam version?) I haven't played in a really long time though. Is a mod manager some kind of system in which you can turn your mods on/off?

There is only one version of Shogun 2 and that is the steam version whether you bought it digitally or have the disks for installation. The mod manager just allows you to select which mods you want to turn off and on before you start the game.

I thought Shogun 2 required steam to play...
Anyway, yes it manages your mods and allows you turn them on/off delete them or unsubscribe if they are from the Steam Workshop, it's been there since a couple of patches.

Yes it is official.
