Icon4 How to tell if you can run Rome 2. (REALLY EASY WAY)

    Hello everyone viewing this thread.
I've seen many threads explaining how to check whether u can run Rome 2 or not but personally, it's like reading another language I have never studied before as I know virtually nothing about customizing computers, installing different graphics cards etc etc.
I recently came across a video on youtube and i'm not sure if it's been posted on this forums already but i found it really useful as you don't need to be experienced with computers in order to find out whether you can run Rome 2 on minimum or recommended settings.

Note: Must have latest java installed, works on windows xp,2000,2003,vista,7 and 8.
Must have Chrome, Internet explorer or firefox. (Mine worked with Firefox and not Chrome so idk if its the same story for you)

    Method:
Firstly, go to this "can you run it" site (works for other games too):http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
Secondly, type in "Total War: Rome II" into the search bar and click on the name when it comes up.
Thirdly, click "can you run it" and it will come up with a menu of three options. Automatic detection, Desktop application and View requirements.
Fourthly, click "Begin Detection" near the "Automatic detection" option, must be using chrome, firefox or internet explorer. It will pick up the information from your computer and at the end of it, it will have either a tick or a cross near the minimum and recommended sections. It will also have a tick near the requirements u meet. Just above this there is a box called system requirements lab analysis and it will tell you where your computer stands in terms of minimum, recommended or lower or higher.

Now you're done, hope i helped

They don't give any specifics but they do tell you whether or not you meet the minimum or recommended requirements and tell u which parts of the requirements you meet which in turn enable you to find out which parts of your computer you need to customize.

Don't trust that website. There have been many cases where it told me I couldn't run the game while my PC could run it just fine. Please, consult other websites, but not that one.

I can guarantee that if anyone has questions whether their rig will run Rome 2, our community members in this thread below are far more helpful to determine how efficient your PC will operate.

As said above these tests are extremely vague. I've had my PC fail on games I played with no difficulty.
From the experience of the latest total war games, if you can play Shogun 2 fine you'll probably play Rome 2 without much problem, maybe scale down the settings one level.

According to this I can play Rome 2 a bit over minimum. I refuse to believe that's true. I get 20 FPS in Chivalry and around 10 in Company of Heroes 2.

I'd say that with 10 FPS and 20 FPS you're in the "not playable" area. It's fair enough if you're under the minimum requirements.

Whatever happened to just reading the minimum to maximum system requirements and comparing them to your own specs? That's how we did it back in the day. No fancy websites then, no siree.

There are other threads that cover this more extensively and I do not see the point of a thread that can be covered in a single post.
