Default Burning Question: Assigning Fiefs and Titles

I didn't want to post to the FAQ thread, because I thought that this was an important question that needs more attention.

Will we be able to assign tittles and fiefs to our generals? Remember this neat feature from the first Medieval? It was a nice way of raising thecompetency level of your leadership as well as its loyalty. So far I have heard nothing of this, so maybe some of you would have the answer. If not, I think that this is an important enough question that we should push for it being answered in one of .com's faq or by communicating with the CA staff.

i asume so. they are bringing most things back from MTW so i dont see why not. the only bad thign is there is no evidence in the screenshot that support this.

Has anyone seen any little scroll looking things in the campagn map?

Nope. Although I was surprised that scrolls (titles) in MTW gave their bearer better command or management... I guess a title also means advisors or something.

maybe it could be one of the things CA does not want to reveal until the release. I know its nothing new, but it would be a nice surprise to see it come back whenyou first play the game. We should not worry to much about it, but we should force the idea to CA so they know it is very important to us. Anyways, they should put it in the game nonetheless.

Maybe in their (CA's) realm of group thinking, When you place a general to garrison a city, you give him the fief. But there is no title, no difference in the attributes, and so on. So they may think that it is already in (as it was in RTW). To us that would be too abstract and removed from the previous process.

I would love a return to this. Not abstract or automatic like in Rome, but actual fiefs and titles like in Medieval. I want to personally reward individual generals, and be able to freeze out poor family members through issuing these things. It would be good to see Sejanus the Lily Livered stuck governing on a distant province which had little to no bearing on your empire until he dies, for a fictional example, as opposed to killing him off in combat (which wasn't always the case for useless, dangerous family members).

From the latest in-depth video I've seen (The Game Trailer footage and interviews) It looks like the governing of provinces will be abstract and automatic. Was priveleged to see trait pages for a King William, Prince Robert, a Governor of Pamplona named Pablo Barbas and many more, and nowhere in there trait listing were any titles such as Duke of Normandy or Prince of Wales. 'Governor' was their title. However, I didnt see any of the full char. trait listings outside of a city.

I am happy to report that the College of Cardinals and Inquisition systems both look fantastic.
I really felt this aspect made the conquests realistic in Medieval 1. That's one of the strong appeals of invasion afterall, to take their titles (especially King ) Fondest memories of foreign campaigns and exotic titles for western family members.
One feature it would be nice if they could include would be the granting of titles as an incentive to potential bribe targets. Would be very historical and add diversity to your entourage. Bribing is other a difficult venture.
