    Default Custom settlments

    I think the generic settlments with chinese buildings are fine but if we could make the settlements that are supposed to be gates, like shi shui guan, actual gates that would add to lore and gameplay. Something like the black gate settlement from third age total war. There is alot of gate "settlements" so you coukd just do one gate settlement and copy it for all the various gates. This settlement would need to be non upgradeable and maybe have reduced troop building options but increased free upkeep slots. They were meant to be garrisoned for defense not trainibg centers.

    the only other settlment i could think of making custom is luo yang with an imperial palace.

    just another suggestion from you freindly northern warlord.

    There are only a very few members that are capable to develop these custom buildings - the ones we have are from backbone studio. Don't think there will be any new ones (at least from our side).
    If there are further developments from bb studio we will ask them for permission.

    Have u guys thought about merging your teams together? Probably could accomplish alot more. Or is their mod focus too diffrent for you guys to work together.

    Also, the Han zhi Shang Mod developers are the same developers of the RTW mod that this mod is based on, alot more to accomplish yes, possible to merge? no. again, refer that to my post above.

    Im going to try my hand at ITWE to make a gate type settlment. Ill let u guys know how it turns out.

    The mods are the same, but it would be take alot of work to merge (One is Chinese and one is English). Their forum is COMPLETELY in Chinese, files are all written in Chinese, so unless someone wants to spend years translating, it would be impossible.

    ah ok so theirs is an actual chinese mod of three kingdoms. I thought was silly if they making similar mods seperately.

    The Han zhi Shang mod looks like something out of my dreams! It is beautiful! Are they still developing it? And is RotK kind of allied to it?

    Does anyone know where i can access the chinese models from this mod? Im trying to do a gate settlement. Im trying to use the walls from this mod to gey it to work. Also i cant use village level settlement for the gate settlement because computer wont make rams or ladders. I need to use a large town or greater settlment. If the developers are going to remove huge cities i could use that settlment for gates or i could use a castle settlment

    not to sure how to implement the settlement once its done. You developer guys would have to do the settlment building stuff. Limit what can be built but make it have a bunch of free upkeep slots im thinking 8 free upkeep slots for any unit stationed there but no troop building capabilities. Kind of like a stone fort from vanilla kingdoms

    village should require rams but not ladders.
    Explain the term 'gate settlement', please. Wouldn't a stone fort do?

    ram and ladder requirements for village: check descr_campaign_db - playing with this value may get the desired result: <siege_gear_required_for_city_level string="village"/>

    No i mean like the gates shi shui guan, wu guan, tong guan etc. Im trying to make a settlment for those that is just one wall with one or two gates with mountains on either side. The plaza is behind the gate. And it can only be attacked from one direction unlike cities.

    The stone fort thing i was mentioning was in regards to free upkeep slots. In stone forts the most exprnsive units are given free upkeep. In settlments the only units with free upkeep are militias and archers. I want gates to not have any building capabilities except maybe seige weapons like they are now but i want them to have free upkeep for up to 8 of any unit garrisoned there.

    It appears that the The Han zhi Shang mod has gates like they are supposed to at least on the campaign map.

    Gongsunzan is correct these gates were defensive structures that acted as the only way through strategic mountain passes throughout china such as the famous hu lou gate.

    Wouldn't Chang'An or Xuchang also be a candidate unique city?
    I also mentioned every campaign-settlement has a different starting building in it.

    And how about the Great Wall? Is that also in the game (or not yet)?

    It is, as a resource, and not as a settlement. There would be no need for that, as there are no factions outside the walls.

    It seems The Han zhi Shang Mod also has tha gates in the battle maps correctly


    Gigantus you said you are partnered with The Han Zhi Shang Mod team to make English mod, is that correct?
