all I wanna know is will the AI be smart enough to bring a massive army to siege my cities? or will it just be me running around chasing everyone yet no one tries to really take me out along with their allies???![]()

my system is a beast...
obviously not.
When rome 2 comes out, i hope the ai will know to bring a larger army to seige with then an army of equal force to seige with.
Or attempt to starve the enemy if they dont
The AI usually do this to me in FOTS they bring armies that they think will beat mine in an assault, usually two or three stacks to my one. Although recently they just siege and just try to wait me out and force me to attack them in a field battle.
So if it stays the same hope it will be in Rome 2.
if you ask nicley they might. imagine that, a way you can disrespect the leader of another faction where they all out attack your cities.

Why wouldn't they? They could in the previous TW games, so I wouldn't worry too much.
The campaign AI is a lot smarter than past Total War games. But the AI has problems when it comes to actual battles..
I doubt that any serious player playing as, for example, Rome or Carthage will be in real threat of being wiped out. To do so would require a concentrated and systematic effort by several AI armies at once, which more troops consistently ferried in for an invasion, and I just can't see this happening in a Total War game. Likely we'll see the usual random stack walk up to get massacred, and then a little later another stack comes.
Though I do recall the developers claiming that the AI now spends a lot more time on preparing its armies, so you might see large scale invasions punctuated by several years of peace. I'll have to see it to believe it though.
Would be great to be attacked from the Alpes by a Carthagenian army, while a Carthagenian army make landfall in the South and the Allies of Carthage attack from their direction. All at the same time for greater effect.

Hopefully the AI will have some sense.
I just finished another campaign of the most recent previous release....Fall of the Samurai. In that game I was regularly amazed how the AI conducted itself......it sieged when it needed to, it conducted amphibious assaults against me in the most shrewd way possible, and the enemy allied AI's worked in a harmonious manner. It wasn't perfect, I doubt any computer AI can match up with a capable human, but it was certainly challenging for me, and impressive. I was on the next to easiest difficulty too.
If Rome II's AI equals Shogun 2/FotS, I will be happy. And I have no reason to think they would ever regress from that game to Rome.

Freedom is the distance between church and state.
don't need to worry about this anymore since in my Shogun2 and FOTS campaigns the AI would always send at least two full stacks to beat my castles or my armies

When I screwed around in Empire using the money cheat, I made at least 15 full stacks and put them on my border with Maratha or whatever the Indian faction was. When I declared war, I found out they did the same and had more stacks than me. Autoresolve said it was more than 150k men.
Lately I've been encountering multiple full stacks attacking me in Napoleon.
If any of this happens in Rome 2, I'll be happy.
Finally got muh sharks.
