Default Can we use more money to speed up things?

I'm wondering if we can have the option to spend more money to speed things up in Rome.

Let's say if I'm building a house, but I feel it goes too slow. So I send more money into the project to speed it up, reducing the amount of turns it takes to finish.
If my units are replenishing their numbers too slow, I can invest more money into them to cause them to replenish faster.
If a city can only produce a limited amount of units per turn, I can invest more money into allowing it to produce more units at the same time, so that instead of just producing 3-4 units a turn, city X can produce many more units, but at double the price(although I wouldn't suggest allowing money to shorten the training time, as that should also reduce the quality of the unit.)

The more we can spend money on, the better if you ask me

I like this idea, being an economic power house should mean more than it currently does.

Indeed, that was what I was hoping for.

In previous TW games, I have sometimes found myself with more money than I could spend. That should never be a problem :O

Then you are obviously not stacking enough armies, duhh.

I would spend more money to CA to let them release the game some weeks or days earlier

This makes sense to me. I would like to pay more to reduce the number of turns in my building queue.

    Yes we can do it.

With enough money anything is possible!

I haven't played the newer TW games as much as the older ones, but in Rome 1 and Medieval 2 I could never have enough money. If I had a large amount I couldn't spend on buildings I'd know it was time for a new army.

There's a limit to how fast men can reinforce and how fast buildings can be built. Throwing money at it doesn't change that.

Actually it kinda does. If you have a vast empire and you want to build a port somewhere, you should be able to choose wether it takes the normal turns or reduced amount if u throw money against it. You have millions of 'slaves' available to you, enough resources etc more money = more / faster everything.

If you have "millions of slaves" you can still only build a building at a certain speed. Sure, if you spend money on something you might be able to build it a little faster, but there's a limit. And faster building/training means more chances for problems. Not to mention the inevitable corruption.

The only problem I see about this concept is abuse by the player and disuse by the AI. As a player, your ability to build your economy far overshadows the general ability of the AI. This is especially true on easier difficulties. I'm not saying it shouldn't be given serious thought, though. I love the idea.

Hmm I'm not sure. I think I'd prefer a 'Civic Pride' edict to increase building speed or a 'Call to Arms' edict for increased troop production with a count-down before it can be enacted again. Being able to rush production could result in the same Spam Armies that have blighted every TW game and something CA have claimed they want to diminish.

How can you spam armies in Rome 2? There is a limit after all. But yeah this poses a serious unbalance. I like the ideia of the edicts better.

Money doesn't buy everything, no matter how much money you throw at troops they can't train faster. Throwing money at diseases doesn't get them cured faster, that's just life bro.

I wouldn't mind being able to throw money at speeding up research.

I guess there won't be merchant agents anymore but I recall seeing a vid that claimed patrician can fill that function.

Maybe, but there would have to be a lot of balance in place, so you can't just buy everything early.

This sounds like a good idea, but money has it's limitations so it wouldn't be too efficient to constantly chuck money at something to make it finish up faster.
