    Default Console Commands and units...

    Hey, guys

Roma Surrectum 2.5 is amazing. Cannot wait for RS.26!

I've played a number of serious campaigns in RS2.5 and I really love them. It gets tense at times and at others, it's just great to build up and then plan an invasion and generally expand. However, there are times when I just want to play RS2.5 without any seriousness whatsoever. Console commands are a great way of doing this. It's just perfect for a good laugh. To be able to just spawn whatever units you want and just place them into your general's army. This is where some problems start to arise...

I've noticed that a lot of units are not properly showing up when you choose them through console commands. There are quite a few that come up and then for others, you just get a picture of a peasant but when you try to launch them in battle, the game will freeze saying it cannot find the textures for that unit. When you just put the unit into your army, you can see the stats and everything. They're all correct. It's just there is no correct portrait and the game will freeze when you try to play as them. It just would be great if we could have access to all the units.

The Roma Surrectum team have given us a great mod. I know these console commands are nowhere near your highest priority, but would you guys mind looking into this? It's ok if this part of the game does not concern you, but it would be really great.

I hope this helps but the Athenian Marines are one of the units that actually work properly and can be recruited through the console commands. Even Arabian Archers. Germanic archers are confirmed as one of the units that suffer from this. Even Spartan Hoplites. There are a vast majority of ones that don't work but these are confirmed for you guys. If you do look into this, I hope these two units could help you out so you can compare them with others to see why they don't work etc.

Thanks for this great mod, guys, and I'm really looking forward to 2.6. Any replies will be appreciated. If you have no intentions of pursuing the console command angle of RS2.5, I will understand but would be great to know what your thoughts are about this.

Hm, I think this has do to with the skins/textures. Because not every faction has every unit. Some factions share the same unit, but with differen textures. That's why I think it's not working. I had something simliar. I wanted to have the Scythian Royal Infantry as Dacia. They were there recruitable as mercaneries, but had that peasant card. When clicked on them everything was okay, but when I started a battle, crash and the same window you have.

Yeah, it's definitely got to be a problem with that then. It specifically said that it couldn't find the right textures and crashed. Would this be an easy fix, you think?

Having console command perfectly working on Roma Surrectum would be amazing! Such a great mod.

Hm, that would be a lot of work. Because you need to add the units you want to the faction you play and give them the right textures or a different one. I don't think that the devs would do this. They don't have enough time for that.

I see. It's one of those things I guess. Still, it would be great if one of the devs pop along and drop their thoughts. You never know, they may have some tips or may not have picked up on this. They are hardcore after all, they don't need console commands

I'd wait 6 months for this haha
I understand though. If it's a really lengthy process and the devs don't have it in them to do this, I'd fully understand.

Well, let's see. Maybe tone comes around here and can explain about that a little bit. Something I forgot, you also need to delete some units for a faction because the recruitment window can only show a maximum of 32 units. And it's often reported that if you add more units, the game could crash when you look at it.
