    Default Bactrian camels

So with all the raging over African and Asian elephants needing unique models, it seems no one has mentioned the different camel types and whether those will be present in the game!

There are two main kinds of camels, the Dromedary camels which are the more common variety with a single hump like this:

and the Bactrian camel, which has two humps like this:

Now during this time period the Bactrian camel was very common in the region around Bactria, hence the name, and was used for travel and trade such as moving caravans along the silk road. I haven't found any information on whether it was used during war but seeing as Dromedary camels were, and the Bactrian camels were the majority species in the Bactria region, I don't see why not. It would be nice if they featured in TWR2 or in a future DLC, replacing the Dromedary camel models for trade caravans in the region and allowing eastern factions to train them for war or for anyone to hire Bactrian camel riders as mercs in the region. Herds of wild Bactrian camels would also show up on the campaign map in the eastern regions similar to the Dromedary camels and elephants we saw in Egypt to signify that they can be recruited there.

Having them in would increase variety and authenticity and it's not like they'd need different animations, just new models.

Obviously the DLC wouldn't SOLELY add Bactrian camels, they would be introduced as part of a unit pack, faction pack, mercenary pack or whatever.

Obviously this would be preferable, I mentioned in my OP it would be nice if they featured in TWR2, meaning at launch, but if they don't and I expect they won't, then I'd rather see them in a patch or DLC than not at all.

This should be in game yes. Some creature variation would be accurate and visually pleasing. Question, are the Forest elephants in game ? Should be African, Indian and Forest elephants...

Evidence even suggests that camels were used for trade in Northern Europe by the Romans:

I don't think they were used in the military at the time period, only later during the middle ages, or maybe just as baggage, because i remember reading somewhere that they were used by the parthian armies to carry arrows and supplies.

Really, I don't think anybody in their right mind would use a dromedary when a two-humped camel was available: it's a natural seat!

I still don't know if this is a troll thread to make fun of the 'equal rights for african elephants!' crowd and the 'Africa is full, keep them Asian elephants out of here!' crowd or if this is serious.

    If serious,

I reall couldn't care less, I even care a little bit more about the inclusion of african elephants and to be honest, that's not exactly at the top of my list as well. There is no evidence of Bactrian camels ever being used in battle in this age and inclusion of them on the campaign map will be impossible to distinguish from the use of dromerdarii.

As I said previously; with the area of Bakria and the immediate AoR units local to their kingdom I genuinely think they should have the most diverse roster in the game. Kataphracts, Elephants, Phalanx, Persian Archers, Indian Longbowmen, Horse archers. Give them it all of course their downside more so should be dealing with Seleucids and Parthians.

By the way, if you have never been up close with a Bactrian Camel, let me tell you they are scary big!
I was in an animal park and saw a few of them standing around munching on a tree. 'Oh hey, camels over there. I think I'll get close to them.' When I did get close I was really surprised at how big they are. There was a kid literally running underneath them. I got a little scared to be honest, especially when one of them turned it's head and looked directly at me when I laid my hand on it's front leg.
But stink they do, and their coat is... unpleasant to say the least. I was however impressed with how calm they were, with people running around, petting them and that idiot kid runner underneath their soft undersides.
Stupidity is the natural state of human beings; brilliance is when we fail at stupidity.

    Speaking of which...

I am ever more reminded of this guy when browsing certain threads.
