    Default Trade system in RTW2

    One aspect of TW series I found very interesting is the trade aspect. I always took my time to train merchants in MTW or capture trade nodes in ETW.

    So I was wondering: how is this system going to be in RTW2? Are there going to be merchant units and/or trade nodes? Or perhaps something new?

    Any news, videos or articles on this?

    I'm also interested in this aspect. Despite E:TW's numerous AI flaws the trade and town growth systems were mini-games unto themselves and I had alot of fun opening up new trade routes and manipulating prices. With 13 internal resources I hope there's a decent trade system but given the time period I don't know how many trade hubs there will be (if any).

    Yeah, to me ETW was a mess of a game in most respects and my least favorite TW game overall but I still put in about 100 hours and that was almost entirely due to the trade system being a mini game.

    Rome 2 trade I have some concerns about but over on TW forums CA_Thamis made some responses that allayed some concerns but still I'll be looking at the trade stuff first thing in September when I load up Rome 2.

    The only thing we do know about trade is:
    1. There will be no more trade nodes.
    2. Exotic resources such as Silk will be handled in the eastermost province.

    This was said a long time ago and might have changed. But we simply doesn't know anything about the trade aspect. I hope it'll be a vital, or at least interesting, part of the game though.

    Thanks for the input on this.

    I'm hoping they are taking good care of this aspect, it's always fun to make a nice profit out of trade!

    As Ichon and HusKatten said, there's been very little information about the economic system despite an economic victory condition now being in the game.

    I also agree with everything that has been said, Empire remains the epitome of the economic system for TW games. The only critique I had of it was that the trade system was limited to being capital to capital instead of territory to territory.

    If you're interested in news on the economic system in Rome 2, you can always check any new posts HusKatten has made. That's what I tend to do, and he's pretty on top of that particular feature
