Advice for noobie
Hi,
I purchase the Total War: Eras pack yesteday and i was enthrallled. To get the most out of the game i thought i would check the mods, patches section. However, i need some advice
1. Which is the best mod to get for gameplay
2. Which is the best mod for units, skins etc etc
3. Any other essential downloads that will make this experience even more awesome.
Any advice would be great to enhance the realism further
Thanks
Daniel

Re: Advice for noobie
Well a tad bit of an addon that I enjoyed was Prometheus TS's Grass mod, which really makes grass look as beautiful as it should.

(the instructions are really easy to follow)
A good mod to start out is TE, since it "somewhat" relates to RTW, and is a good play. It has great skins, and goes with Darthmod's latest formations Mod (which makes the AI more challenging)

Re: Advice for noobie
1. The generally considered best mods are going to be
Terra Expugnandae
Europa Barboruom
Rome Total Realism
SPQR
Not to say there aren't other good ones, but these are the most played overall. Both TE and RTR are more gameplay oriented, focusing on a balance of fun, historical realism, and adding new units.
EB is very historically based, but is a beta, and is VERY in-depth. Not for beginners in all honesty.
SPQR is based on massive battle fun. If you enjoy the RTS portions more than the campaign map then this is for you.
2. Most of the mods I listed above have put in new units, and reskinned the old ones.
3. If I were you, I'd enjoy the regular campaign as much as possible, because as soon as you get into these you can't go back =P. If you feel yourself ready to move on to mods, then I personally recommend RTR, because It's very polished and balanced, with a good mix of everything. This is of course just opionion, but links for most of these mods can be found on this site.
