Just a little feedback
Hi i just been playing barbarian invasion called invasio barbaroum flagum dei or whatever is it which v5 is pretty buggy. So i decided to have a change and I have been keeping my eye on this mod because it is very different and unique. The last mod i had been playing on RTW was RTR, but i wanted a change and the period ROP is set in is a really interesting period.
I have been playing the Egyptians because i think they are great, however state that the population growth bonuses from the grain resources are far too great its like 7%-9.5%. Also this make the public order really bad and the heavy costs to garrison a city is enormous. Im just suggesting that it should be tweaked down.
Also will there be more cities added to the greek mainland to represent the civil strife and importance of greece, aswell as the fact that Messania next to Sparta should have its own city to represent the difference and potential Messanian uprising seeming though it would be stupid if Sparta rebel again herself.
And one more thing what happenned to the religious buildings and wonders
Sorry to ask or suggest such information but I felt I needed to because I would like to see this mod do the best it can, because it has alot of potential to be a great mod. Thank you guys for listening and making such a very unique mod

Re: Just a little feedback
I've just downloaded the mod after glancing at it several times since it was released but never having been sold on the idea. I assumed it would just be based around Persia with many Persian factions vying for control so decided to give it ago and WOW! I love it! I'm also playing as Sparta and its been great to be able to expand in so many different directions with so much open space to move into. I secured my local area quickly then expanded north, leaving Atens alone, and moving into Rebel controlled areas. Athens soon grey jealous of my expansion and made a sneak attack against me which was easily put down but its such great fun. No complaints at all. Great Mod.

Re: Just a little feedback
One thing I've noticed after playing as Sparta for quite a few turns now is the amount of money I make. I can't spend it quick enough. I'm close to 100k now and even when I spend a good amount on buildings for all my cities I still make a profit. I can also field a decent sized army and carry on making a profit each turn. Are all factions like this or is it just a fluke?
Not that i'm complaining .... its not as if I hate being rich

Re: Just a little feedback
Huh, most players are happy having so cool money income =)
What I can say about greek factions in this case. They all have cool money from naval trade, historically. So if you choose to play Lakedaimon (Sparta) or Athens or Ionia you will be cool with money, but (!) its too easy to unite entire greece now. Me and Spurius have it in mind, so its fixed since beta2 (coming next week). Also, we plan to make Sparta in way of militaristic state with traditional penalties (remember USSR?) - public order and economy. Also Argos will be strong foe for them, so their expansion will not be so fast. Same with Athens. Ionia have easily seemed problem - Lydia, so should retire to islands but as "compensation" take better trade-oriented economics.
Also, pirates wont make life of greeks be easy. It will be HARD, because all of ,ainland-greek-provinces are coastal and cool target for pirate (rebel) invasions. So its completely Total War.

Re: Just a little feedback
That all sounds great. I noticed it was rather easy playing as Lakedaimon. I've defeated Athens (not much of a Peloponnesian War here lol) and Macedonia without much trouble but noticed that there are some very large Kingdoms out there now
Great mod and really enjyoing it.
