How will rerources impact game?

Will it be like in Shogun 2 were Gold adds cash, grain adds food/taxes, iron is needed for advanced armor & weapons, Marble for advanced buildings, Timber for ships.....

I would most likely say yes. I cant think of how they would otherwise fit it into the game.

Also: Ive seen alot of questions about wounded soldiers on the battlefield, and Ive seen footage that has simuliar effects to it. At 7:26 of the first Carthage game play where the three units are fighting, in the lower right there's roman soldiers wounded and trying to push themselves back into the fight.

I assume it is as you said OP. Certain buildings at the end of their development chains will require special resources.

Resources will do even more than Shogun. They stated you could also get special units with the right resources like Elephant and Camel troops if you conquer North Africa
