Lonely room (MTW:VI-MP)

Lately, my first time logging on to VI multiplayer, I ended up in an empty room, the person I was supposed to be playing ended up in the same room as always and so we were unable to play one anouther. A few minutes later anouther person joined and asked "Is this place usualy this empty?". He was also new to VI-MP.

Is this some new room for newer players or something?

Is your game fully patched?
Rooms could be version based.

Fully patched? i didn't even know there were patches... *sigh* looks like there is a price to pay for moving to TWC after Rome has come out

1) Go out and get the patch. You can only play players who have the same version as you, and everyone has 2.01VI and 1.1MTW. Get patches at www.totalwar.com

2) You are in the regular room. All versions and mods of MTW/VI share the same lobby. Although you can join the games of someone with the same version or mod as you.

3) The lobby is empty half of the day. Log on between 6pm and 2am GMT and the lobby is active (for MTW/VI standards). A couple hours before and after then there might be anywhere from 0-10 people on.
