Eradicating campers is a must. I like the way CA fixed the problem with Shogun II by introducing the Dojo's particularly if there will be ladder present.


I am hoping CA does not take a step backwards and leave them out. Here is hoping we don't get the same situations that arose when SHII first came out.

Heir of Carthage had a video where he was playing multiplayer in Rome 1. His opponent was the Greeks and they corner camped with a load of Spartans. He was Carthage, and just had all his Sacred Band attack one single unit. It worked really well.

Bring a piece of artillery along with a decent size cav and low missile numbers to retain melee infantry strength.

When you have a bit of everything only then do you see how good a player is.

Yeah, and CA also took away greater range from archers in S2 too so hill camping wouldn't make sense.. Made me lose alot of respect for them (at least in that they didn't give this a choice in single player in the least)

that would have been fine as long as the range caused less casualties and allowed the troops taking the arrows to stop and shield against them basically just draining the enemy arrows.

Capture points solves the corner camping issue.

However I hate cav spammers even worse just because the games can take a long time if they kite all over the map. I have had battles that lasted over an hour chasing these bastard and when I finally corner them they would pull the plug. The good thing about capture points is they help solve the cavalry spam problem as well at least for mp and drop in battles.

There's no more multiplayer conquest, online games in R2 are now purely for kicks, so you don't have to play strangers.

I don't understand the people who use cheap tactics to win.

I make a balanced army and try to win in a battle, the way the game should be played. I like to win, but playing cheap to win ruins competitions everywhere, in just about everything. From online gaming to trading stocks.

[Edit] Though I do plan on being incredibly heavy with cavalry playing as Parthia online. Like... not even close to balanced. Though Parthian armies were mostly horse archers and cataphracts.

I like the dojo system from S2TW as well, it solved the problem of both campers and cav kiters quite elegantly. I hope to see some similar solution in R2TW.

I usually cornered camp cause the few multiplayer battles I played, the other player always had a load of Calvary and just kept running around me untill my army was all over the place to tell u the truth it's worse then the AI. So what did I do? Corner camp it's the

A player used two strategies that you would probably consider unfair then won the final game with a longer, strategic game. Netted a cool $35,000. You can pretend that it's high and mighty to not use certain tactics but there aren't style points in game. There's a column for wins and a column for losses.

Corner camping is counterable and if it happens to you and you don't know how to stop it then the solution is already presented. Learn how. Look it up, study the replay, ask friends, do whatever it takes. But don't tell yourself that it's not fair. You're trying to substitute in a third fictional column. Reality is simple. You either win or lose.

Don't pretend that a tactic you don't like is not a valid tactic. Half of martial history is exploiting a weakness. The other half is being exploited by leaving a weakness in your strategy. I hope you enjoy MP in Rome 2.

bring back the days of Medieval 2 where you were limited to so many units before the price went up each time. Stops any form of spamming.
