Default One month left, you excited yet?

How does one pass the time knowing how close a new total war is at our finger tips? I've been playing some older total war games but of resent I decided to fore go total war altogether and try something new, well some else. I brought Europa Universalis: Rome - Gold Edition off steam, I played it before a few years ago on my laptop but have no idea where the disc is anymore. Playing it gets me so excited for the carnage of a new total war. What are you guys playing in the mean time? Anyone have any suggestions for what we should play other then a total war game or mods?

I think the thing I'm most excited about is the line of sight system. It actually gives you a reason to have fast moving troops instead of just heavy infantry/Cav

Haven't played any Total War games for like 5 months, so Rome 2 will feel more "fresh" when it comes out.

If you've got the money and enjoy the Sims games, then I would recommend getting Sims 3, It's definitely a step up. Except you only get two starting cities, and the game tries to get you to buy add-ons ing constantly.

Already played that games, bought it when it came out and played it until 2011.

Sims 3 was the worst Sims game I have ever played. It was bug-ridden at start, had much less features even after expansions. I played all of them, but I could not bear play Sims 3 more than two years, after which I got frustrated by constant money-grabbing by EA and that crap spyware named Origin, and uninstalled it completely. It was not a good game compared to other Sims games, and the later expansions added so much stupid fantasy and magic that it turned completely different from what it was supposed to be.

I play Sims 2 now. Much better game, even with old graphics it has THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of more features than Sims 3. Not to mention that it is virtually bug-free, and doesn't require that spyware Origin.

I have, in fact, began playing Sims 1 sometimes as well. Good game, even though very old.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am spending my time learning Japanese as well. Along with reading history books and articles, painting, watching TV, watching anime, and waiting for my exam results.

    Yes.
Despite the fact that the AI has a high probability of containing overwhelming levels of suck, and even though we'll be bombarded with tiny "we developed these independantly from the main game" DLC's AND with the full awareness that CA will constantly patch the game and alter it somehow other than advertised due to incessant whining like they did with Shogun 2.

Yes, yes, yes. I'm basically spinning my wheels and plan to call in sick for work the first week of September, then rack up over 300 hours of gameplay on it before it's first expansion comes out.
Oh, but of course I'll still whine and criticize CA incessentaly. That comes with the territory.

I really feel like seeing some reports from people I trust and some walk thoughs from actual gamers before I can get excited about playing it -- but I'm looking forward to it coming out.

Game reviews are often not to be trusted. If you'd read my post correctly you'd see that what I was talking about.

But I do loathe stupid games, as most people do. Granted some people will play any steaming pile no matter what, "lol"

Every day that passes is another day closer to total war, if only I could freeze myself until it comes out and not end up a future boy fighting for one atheist faction or another.

Playing both Europa Universalis - Rome (Gold Edition) as well as Crusader Kings 2. I also play Victoria II, Hearts of Iron 3 and most of other Paradox strategy games to pass the time.

Along with that, I play Total War of course. Passing my time with Empire, Napoleon, Shogun II (FoTS) and RTW with Roma Surrectum II.

I am playing Assassin's Creed, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations. Best games I have ever seen, with the best voice acting, and the most historically accurate cities.

And playing Simcity 4. God, that game has a deadly addiction transferred to whoever plays it.

I am also playing Sims 2, although not as frequently.

You have entirely too much free time.

I've been passing the time with Shogun 2 and CK II. The anticipation is building, though.
