are there specific naval battles?

Are there naval battles strictly ship to ship, I know they've integrated naval and land combat but I haven't heard much about just boat vs boat.

When ever two Naves at war with each other are in the same sea province you'll get a sea battle. Why would you think anything else?

At least they used 'ropes' to get on the other ship in Empire/Napoleon.
