    Default Barbarian Invasion

I'm of the opinion that we will definently see a Barbarian Invasion expansion for Rome 2 similar to what we saw for Rome 1. I'm guessing that Rome 2 is going to be the best selling Total War game by far, just based on the excitement that's been growing every since it was announced. Hopefully that would mean CA has more money to put into expansions and support for the game.

So, assuming that they will have plenty of money for whatever it is they want to do, I think the Late Empire period would again be a brilliant choice. Some would say "We've already had that", but that was nearly a decade ago. And really, what other period are you going to include that still involves Rome? Regardless, I'm confident that a potential Barbarian Invasion expansion would be vastly different from the original expansion 8 years ago, and that it would sell extremly well, and be fun for everybody involved.

What do you think? Would you be interested in Rome 2: Barbarian Invasion? If not, what other period that includes Rome would you want to see? Maybe the early, early Republic? Something else?

I think a Barbarian Invasion setting could be a lot of fun, but I kind of doubt they'd do Barbarian Invasion 2. If they do, it'll be over a different time period than the original, I think. Give or take at least 50 years.

I'd personally like to see an expansion pack DLC that either covers the Hellenistic period (perhaps Greek City-state warfare, threat of invasion of mighty Persian Empire)...or possible something like a 'Caesar's Conquests' pack. Several mini-campaigns (100 turns each maybe) where you try and conquer Gaul as Caesar, or fight Pompey and the Optimates to secure control of the Empire...maybe even 'fantasy' campaigns where Caesar goes on to survive the Ides of March and lead an invasion against Dacia and/or Parthia.

God I hate mini campaigns, it totally kills the epic nature of the game. Everything feels rushed and forced.

Dark Ages would be good too, though I think that'd be out of bounds because by definition the Dark Ages means no more Rome. At least not in the form that Caesar would've recognized. Maybe as a DLC for Medieval 3.

No more Western Rome. The Byzantines were Roman, no matter what they try to tell you.

    THEY ARE ROMAN!

No, they're Romans. They spoke Greek, yet saw themselves as Romans. Wasn't it called the Roman Empire in medieval times?

The Byzantine Empire was Greek in later years. Greeks continuing the Roman Empire to put it simply.

Pelopponesian Wars. Get more into the classical Greek era. All of Greece, E Anatolia, S Italy, and Sicily. Zoom way in and get all the city states. Maybe even add the occasional Barbarian or Persian invasion.

I'd rather see a full Classical Greek game. A very very detailed map of a smaller area, like in Shogun, except it would actually be interesting because it's Greeks.

If we are talking about 5th cet there is no worry since it's the cent where phalanx vs phalanx was not the only type of warfare. A consequence of the Peloponnesian war.

Cant CA just put barbarians in dlc instead of making expansion?

If they do a Barbarian Invasion, I would like to see a feature that I think would fit nicely with the family system. If you have enough power for your family, you would be able to break away from the main faction and settle down a new empire somewhere else. Your regions would be taken from the main faction and the amount of regions you can select to have in your new faction would stem from the amount of influence you have.

Greek people originating from Greece and living in Greece. Seems pretty Greek to me.

They werent the only ones to call themselves Roman, either, if that even mattered.
