    Default The new improved launching pila mechanics.

    One of the things that i was really worried about from the last videos (Teutoburg and Nile) was the throwing pila mechanics: if you noticed, legionaries threw their pila while running at full speed and in a really fast way; completely irrealistic, awful to look at, and a significant immersion-breaking thing.
    From the last prologue videos we can see now that pila armed infantry that are ordered to charge, when are about to throw their pila, they stop a bit, throw them with a specific new animation, and make the final charge. Though this process could seem a bit (but only a bit) too fast, this IMHO is so much better than what seen in Teutoburg or Nile .
    Sooo much better and more realistic
    Do you like it or do you think that it could be improved a bit more?

    I think the overall battle speed is still a little too fast.

    It could be a little faster yeah but I think it's just nitpicking at this point. It's totally acceptable.

    I think it looks pretty good. Big improvement over the original Rome where every single guy in the unit had to walk into position, and then they all fire in unison. So clunky.

    Can anyone point where I can see it? Meaning time and video?

    Yeah, very happy to see that, I hated the portrait things before but they look really nice now.

    You're right thanks for pointing that out.

    Regarding your Pila comment. I swear I read somewhere that you can unlock throwing while running as part of the technology tree. But apparently that feature is limited to elite/heavy units.

    That will not be so good if it would be so. Only light units with light javelins should be able to do this. I don't want to see legionaries with superpowers.

    I want them to run even faster and throw at the same time.
    I also miss their first arrow trails. CA should put them back and not bow to whining.

    lol but in all truth how was Rome? Did you meet POM too?

    Have you recorded the siege battle with walls of the Prologue (Bonavium ??), and if so are you allowed to upload it?

    The new animation looks great I didn't like the previous one were the pilas just 'spawned'. This is a great improvement, thanks CA
