    I'm sure you arejoking, but I also feel it's a bad idea. I never understood why peoplethought modern combat would make for a good TW game. The scale is too faroff the mark. The TW series to me is all about linear tactics warfare. It fits ancient warfare perfectly and that is why it was no mistake theoriginal Romewas so successful. I feel anything priorto the 1900's is a good match for the TW system.

    Modern era might be stretching it, but I'd surely love to see Rome and Carthage fight it out with muskets and cannons

    As the game progresses, you eventually end up in Company Of Heroes 2. Duh.

    You know, as a what if scenario it might be kinda cool. I picked up a book once, "Rome Burning" I think it was called (weirdly enough, I was in Rome's airport at the time) and it was about the Roman Empire surviving until modern times. Interesting read and a cool concept, and I think if a group of modders wanted to play around, maybe fiddle with some of the Great War's models...
