    Default So family tree anywhere?

I really, really hope that CA has not been limmiting the family tree anymore. So far we have only seen snippets of how the senate is going to work but I hope, I really really hope that we will also see the return of the RTW style family tree for factions ruled by a monarchy with lots of options like choosing heir, posting family members to important governmental jobs like being a general or governour of important provinces.

I allways mourned the loss of the ability to 'cultivate' my family like it was possible in RTW. In M2TW CA took away the possibility to select a heir (which probably made sense historically but was less fun), in ETW, Napoleon and Shogun2 the campaign where simply not long enough to have a fully developed, generation spanning family tree.

I hope that this game will give us back these options, it allows great ways to sort of role-play through your games. In my most desired scenario CA has two very distinctive types of internal politics gameplay: one for republics and one for monarchies.

Sorry R2TW will not have a family tree, but it will have a family shrubbery:

Wow haha, yesterdag I wrote a whole new thread concerning this matter, but then when I wanted to post it, the forum had an internal server problem and I lost everything.
Anyway I had the exact same thoughts you have and I really, really wish it will return! I liked to see what your family was up to, which branch of the family was better in commanding / governing, who were the generals / governours, etc. So I hope this will return, but I'm guessing it will not... This is a pic I took form another thread (it's CanOmer's), and here you can also see, besides the fact that Will's in it, that we'll probably only see one's stats and not what his place is in the family.

In this video (around 14.45) we get a look at some sort of overview, and there are all your generals placed in a row next to each other... So I'm guessing we won't be able to get a family tree, and I don't like that at all.

Yep, I knew that, but I'm guessing it will be pretty similar... Also take a look at the Rezzed video, you'll see what I mean. Do you think there will be a family tree?

And it's from the Romans which have a senate and stuff like that. I hope barbarians have more focus on the family and it's members

Yeah remember rome is based around the senate, you'd have to have three different family tree's one for each family.

For a monarchy I seriously hope to see a family tree that you can intereact with.

I also really hope that. I've posted this in the Q&A thread from Jack Lusted on the official forums. Hopefully he'll give us the answer!

No, but I posted the same question in the Jack Lusted thread, and I'm hoping to see it answered today!
