With the quickly approaching release date of Rome II, I feel it may be time for the modders to decide if it's worth continuing. After reading an watching the Rome II media blitz today, it's safe to say that it's going to be a masterpiece!
I'd suggest releasing the mod in whatever condition it is in now to the public. If someone wants to carry on then fine, but I would like to have the current core EB II modders take a few weeks off and then turn their attention to Rome II and throw their time and talents into making that a better game.
I know that there are diehard fans here that will balk at my suggestion, but deep down inside they know I'm right. I'm sure EB II can be a fine mod someday, but it's limited by the aging Kingdoms engine. The new Rome II engine is a massive step forward from Kingdoms. I'd rather see the modders here pour the same time and devotion into Rome II and make it more historically accurate and play better, than continuing working with an outdated game engine that was never designed for this time period.
I write this with sincerity and I'm not trying to troll. After seeing the new vids today I just feel that my suggestion makes the most sense. Thanks!
