Default is it in the details?

What, in your opinion, is the worst breach of reality in that we have yet seen in Rome 2?

    I would name a few:

    Bronze Age Egyptians
Late Romans in the early game (especially the campaign map models)
    Germans who look like Gauls
    Spartans directly out of 300

now: i fully support the game and intend to buy it - i'm simply curious if other people are bothered. this is by no means a complaint; it is in fact just a question, and as such cannot compel anyone to answer. if nothing bothers you, perhaps consider not voting.

There are also Hellenistic Egyptian units
Hastati, Principes and Triarii are not late Romans. You are right about the campaign map models though.
How do the Germans look like Gauls?
Spartans don't look like in 300...in 300 they just wear a cape, shield, sword and helmet. In the game, they are also wearing armor. They look like from 200 years before the game though. (but just because of the corinthian helmet)

Anybody who plays the game with a modern orchestral music sound track playing in the background. Ancient battles didn't have that. Ludicrous.

Seeing how this thread has nearly 90 views and only 5 votes speaks for itself.

    Worst breach of reality?

People unable to accept the reality and fact that this is a video game, as someone said in one of the Videos, and is aimed at maximizing fun while maintaining as much accuracy/authenticity as possible, without limiting said gameplay.

If it was down to history hard-ons here it would be twenty Hellenistic factions poking each other with pikes and bearded face-masks all day.

What bothers you most? The OP's ability to make threads... g

While the OP, and other people like him are making threads, I will take a band of Spartans to the Hot Gates* and tell the Macedonians to stay out of my lands!

*Oh yeah, the Gates are in, CA said so.

neither, what bothers me most are:

Ability to let your troops move forward (backwarts or turn) is gone. Especially when having phalanxes this would be very handy but helas it is gone. Really dunno why because it worked great in the past three games since its introduction in Empire.

No possibility to gift regions? For example when I help allies and recapture one of their lost provinces it is extremely annoying if I can't give them back.

I think the Germans will turn out very different than the gauls/celts.
the 300 style spartans contribute to fun. (actually the spartans from Rome2 look better than the very strange outfitted spartans in 300
Romans look fine to me. You have a point though with the agents but it doesnt bothers me
bronze age Egyptians. Does anyone really know how the common footfolk looked like, which isnt written about much.

Actually I think there are a lot of other things that would bother me a hell of a lot more than these.
Overall looking forward to playing it
