So what happens when you take that new intro and place Rome Total War music over it?

I like Shogun 2's intro more, but then, I'm a sucker for CGI.

I agree wholeheartedly, the duel between the monk and the samurai hero was an epic stylization.

But this reminded me of Rome 1's trailer, so the nostalgia factor makes this trailer great... and the Spartans completely pwning.

"The people of our city will not forget this day. The sight of you will inspire the children to join the forces that keep us all safe. Foreign ambassadors will watch us and be cautious in their dealings with Rome, with the vision of our ranks always in their minds. Merchants will watch us and know there is something more in the world than making money. Women will watch us and compare their little husbands to the best of Rome! See your reflections in the eyes as we pass. You will give the people something more than bread and coin today; you will give them glory"

This is what this game will look like! It must!
"We will bring Rome to them not because of the strength of our legions, but because we are right"

We went from teasers to all out action! Love it, CA!

People still complaining about the Egyptians?
So people want a copy and paste Macedon then?

Seriously, some people need to get a grip.
Those Egyptians looked detailed as hell!

It was a perfectly fine intro. The elephant falling down and dying made me weep with laughter. It's a very funny animation if you haven't seen it yet.

We haven't seen SINGLE Ptolemaic unit. All units were bronze age Ramesses II units with makeup, it's just stupid. It's Rome 1 all over again.
You need to get a grip.

We have seen some (bottom left phalanx):

    Spoiler for Image

The general as well as the scythed chariots are "Greek" as well. As is the soldier representing an army on the campaign map.

I reckon there will be a healthy mix of (cheaper) native Egyptian units and elite Greeks.

However I agree that the focus in the video's and screenshots tends to be on the native units.
Probably because they trigger a lot more recognition with your average person.

I for one like the fact that they exaggerated the use of native units a little making the Ptolemaic Kingdom that more unique compared to the other factions.

I did, but I only saw phalanx levies, elephants, chariots and egyptian archers, some kind of swordsmen with padded armor, ballistas and camel skirmishers. I haven't seen any hoplite unit, but Rodent24 gave me some hope.

Oh I'm gripping, alright, don't you worry.
I don't want every freaking Egyptian unit in the game to look 1000 BC. I am fine with SOME native units, local levies with padded armor, camel skirmishers or scythed chariots look cool and add diversity but seriously every official screenshot and video about Egypt just showed bronze age units with stupid pharaoh helmets and makeup, it just looks horrible to me.

So you saw the hellenistic chariots?

Cancelling the pre-order and saying goodbye to all that arcade is now the easiest thing. I should know, I do it about three times a day.

P.S. I'm absolutely disgusted at something in the video!!!

P.S.S. Awesome video, thanks for finding it!
