True, but he had the Lamda for Lacedaemon, so did they Spartan at :40. Maybe it's an alliance, or maybe it's a Macedon unit (hypaspists?) There are troops wearing the linothorax too, which I think is unique to Athens.

That was the best intro CA has ever made, to the people freaking out I doubt Spartan hoplites actually through their spears, it's like how the Naginata monk had his spear broken in half in Shogun 2's intro, it's just to make it look cool people don't freak out thinking it's a part of the game, you don't actually have 1 person units either. Overall though this intro is fantastic I need this game now! 1 month left!

Awesome! I wish it was a bit longer, but the intro itself is pretty good. Also gotta love the Armenian duduk in the music towards the end. Epic!

I'm speechless. From the voices to the animations, everything is fantastic. I felt something build up inside of me... when the sound of those Chariot Scythes started turning, when the elephant came down, the officers commanding their man, it all sounded so awesome!

You can't really call this in-game footage. It is however partially made with in-game assets (including some animations) and possibly rendered with an engine similar to the game's.

That's why it looks in-game but most scenes are staged and there are definitely custom animations. Saves CA a lot of time in comparison to pre-rendered movies and still looks great.

I`m not sure thats true. I did see spears sticking out of elephants in the battle of the nile video. I think the elephant death scene might be what we might see in the real game.

I hope not, that poor animal died in a hilarious way. Personally, I would have loved to see the whole bloody clash a la Gladiator between Romans and Gauls. Those few moments they used were quite entertaining.
