Galley warfare

One of the most exciting additions for me in Rome II is galley warfare. With cannon firing warships the best thing was usually to stand off and sink the enemy from afar. Although some of the galleys will have ranged weapons, closing with the enemy to ram or board takes on more urgency. Does anyone have any thoughts how they will be using these naval vessels? Or perhaps a good reference book for their use?

Boarding and ramming tactics mostly. The ranged ships wont be that many from what i've gathered.
