Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I'm glad to see that the BAI is using skirmishers properly.
Also, apparently cavalry will become visible if you have them run, even if they'd normally be hidden.
Aelfwine, then, spoke out and valiantly declared: 'Let us call to mind those declarations we often uttered over mead, when from our seat we heroes in hall would put up pledges about tough fighting; now it can be proved who is brave. I am willing to make my lineage known to all, that I was from a substantial family in Mercia. My grandfather was called Ealhelm, a wise nobleman blessed with worldly wealth. The thanes among that people shall not reproach me for my wanting to get out of this army, to make my way home, now that my lord leader is lying hacked down in battle. To me that is the greatest grief: he was both my kinsman and my lord." Then he moved forward and turned his attention to revenge, so that with his spear he struck a seaman among the army so that he lay dead among the ground, destroyed by his weapon. Then he exhorted his comrades, his friends and companions, that they should advance.

Agreed, this is the best battle shown thus far.

Skirmishers have another job as scouts.Actual terrain placement will matter now.

It's shame there's no gunpowder because reverse sloop defence would be deadly.

Wow thanks a lot for posting this, I'm sure many others are grateful too! I've actually had a dream about Rome 2 the excitement is making this last month feel like three. All I need now is to convert my room into a bunker with plenty of food supplies and I'll be set!

Everything looks spot on, combat speed has been toned down a lot since the battle of the nile or these units the Romans are fighting are superior.

So at around the twenty four minute mark the AI actually sends a unit through the forest to outflank the player. Also the units do actually maintain formations for a bit, although they still do blob eventually.

Nice to see the line of sight and I see that the blobbing warfare of the era is accurately portrayed, the fort was also a great help protecting the capture point from an almost lethargic enemy, perhaps because this battle is merely for training purposes?

    Well it is the tutorial.

I still think combat is over too quickly, but maybe this battle wasn't the best representation of it. I just want a lot of hack and slash.

Or maybe because the BAI couldn't see anything due to the LoS system.
