    I'm pretty sure it wasn't just exclusive to Iranians/moors/egypt

    Indeed, Constantinople was part of the sea part of the silk road, not land.
    Check this map, The land routes are red, and the water routes are blue.

    can we please make a new submod that adds special trade buildings for Venice, Genoa, Sicily, and Byzantines. also make a submod that gives turks a caravan stop?

    If you want stuff like this, you will have to learn how to mod yourself, it is a good idea though.
