    Default Superheroes

So I know this topic might seem a little dorky, but hey, we are a video games forum full of people obsessed with history, how much more dorky could it get?

Who are your favorite superheroes and why?

Here are some of mine, in alphabetical order:

    CAPTAIN AMERICA

Yeah I know he is cheesy, but there is something about him I like. And no I'm not some super patriotic nut, I just like his powers and skills. He isn't really superhuman in any way, just 'peak human' meaning he is as strong, fast, agile, and smart as it is possible for a human to be. He is a no-nonsense bad-A who can beat down people many times more powerful than him because of his incredible fighting skills.

    IRON MAN

I have always loved the armor, it is just so cool, and I also love the idea of a playboy billionaire to be a superhero in his spare time, but not like Bruce Wayne/Batman, who is only really a playboy to cover his identity as batman, Tony Stark really parties like a man, plus he is an alcoholic, and has a heart problem/brain tumor (depending on the version) and I like the flawed hero. Plus he is way smarter than Batman, he actually uses his money to build himself a suit that can actually protect him and let him fight powerful baddies.

    SPIDER-MAN

I like this guy because he is funny, and really is just a regular joe with superpowers. He is by far the most believalbe of the "accicental powers" heroes, because he seriously has no idea what he is doing, and his personal life gets in the way so much more than the other heroes' lives do. He also has a really good heart, but most of the city hates him because of all the negative press he gets. Jonas may be a bigger thorn in Spiderman's side than any of his other villians.

    THOR

What can I say about Thor, he is just a super badass of the highest calibur. He is a long-haired, Hammer-throwing, lightning-conjuring, troll-slaying, mead-chugging, tree-hugging son of a gun.

The Flash, I don’t really know why. He was the first superheroes who caught on with me. I just loved him and even watched his own real life show. Plus the fact that unlike some superheroes (superman) he had but one power and that was speed. So he would have to find an way to put his one special power into effect. Other then him there was Megaman, yes I know its not of American decent. I really began to like him when the Megaman Legends came out. I mean think about it. The man can just about kill you anyway he wants. You got the left arm for the blaster and the right as what ever you want.
I just hope that people see this “superheroes” part first before they began to post. Other wise we will be seeing a lot of Alexanders, Hannibals, And Caesars.

Maybe this doesnt count but my favorite supervillain is Dr. Doom hands down.

    Why?

He has his own country. Latveria.
    He has diplomatic immunity.
He's single handedly bested the X-Men, Fantastic Four etc on more than one occasion, no cronies involved.
He defeated The Beyonder in Secret Wars.
He just looks cool as hell.

"And I have felt the sudden blow of a nameless wind's cold breath,
And watched the grisly pilgrims go that walk the roads of Death,
And I have seen black valleys gape, abysses in the gloom,
And I have fought the deathless Ape that guards the Doors of Doom."

Captain Planet was, is, and always will be the "Greatest Superhero of All Time."

Captain Planet was a character in the animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers and The New Adventures of Captain Planet. Captain Planet is a superhero as he is a caricature of nobility, wears a flamboyant costume and has many superpowers. Captain Planet's appearance was loosely based on that of DC Comics superhero Captain Atom.

Captain Planet is the combined and magnified powers of all five of the Planeteers'(his teenage sidekicks) rings, and stands for all that is good and environmentally-friendly. The Captain is sky-blue skinned, with a grass-green mullet and eyebrows. He wears red shorts, a half-shirt and gauntlets with matching red knee-high boots (his boots were missing in the first episode). His body is composed mainly of a crystal compound.

Captain Planet has a very impressive array of powers: He can fly, has great strength, the ability to blow hurricane force winds, telepathy, telekinesis, can change shape, transmute matter, and virtually any other super-power required by the circumstances currently facing him, which, in fact was one of the criticisms against the show. His primary weaknesses are to pollution, radiation, toxic waste, smog, etc. The powers of the Planeteers' rings are also diminished by excessive pollution in the environment around them; as well as powerless when Captain Planet is made manifest. He, like Gaia, is also bound to the physical realm of Earth: while capable of flying into space, his powers-- and even his very existence-- begin to fade the further away he gets from the planet. Conversely, Captain Planet is often healed from the damage he sustains from pollution by absorbing solar energy. However, despite his abilities, even he knows that he cannot solve all the world's problems and that humans must change. Even if he were to clean up all the pollution on Earth, it would matter little if humans continued polluting.

Captain Planet is an ancient entity, who has served with Gaia for many centuries (possibly even longer). While his appearance and certain mannerisms are taken directly from the minds of the Planeteers, he is a sapient being, with his own will. He is also quite aware of current events, even those that occur when he is not active, as well as the modern world and even some knowledge of pop culture. His modern-day superhero attire and name seem to stem from the modern world, as even Gaia does not give his name in the beginning- he appears to actually name himself.

Captain Planet generally does not get angry, let alone act out with intense violence. However, he may be capable of some degree of anger even if he never shows it. Especially in later seasons, his dealings with the Eco-Villains was a bit harsher, if not overly so (in "No Place Like Home", instead of simply saving a drowning Doctor Blight, he opts to "sell" her a life raft for a small price- enough money to build low-cost housing for the homeless population of the city Gaia had become trapped in). Though his strength may force him to be overly cautious at times- he is strong enough to tear steel in half. He could easily injure or kill a human if he wanted to.
    I wish he were real.

Batman - He didn't have any actual powers, but he was well-versed in many different forms of martial arts. And notice how he never uses a gun (at least one that never shot lethal bullets)? That's right; a gun is a COWARD'S weapon.

I dont actually have a favourite superhero. I dont read crappy comics and I dont watch any of those lame and stupid tv series and shows which serves no better porpose than filling out TV hours. I am going to choose batman though if I have to pick one, as I liked the Batman begins movie. As you might have noticed before in this post I dont like most things that features superheroes.
