the second flag is for The Abbasid Caliphate, it is Often refereed to as the Flag of Islam. the sentence written on it means " There is no Lord But God, And Muhammad is his prophet", so when you see at the news people holding this flag, they are not Supporting Al-Qaeda, But the Islamic Religion,

the symbol on the other flag is the seal of Prophet Muhammad. it was written on his Ring.

Bukhari talked about this seal:

"It was at the occasion of the Treaty of Hudaiba, when Muslims and the people of Makkah agreed upon a cease fire. The Messenger of God (pbuh) took this opportunity and decided to write letters to the Kings of Arabs and Non-Arabs, inviting them towards Islam. Some of the companions told him (pbuh) that these kings would not accept a letter without a seal. Thus he (pbuh) got a ring prepared and had the words ‘Muhammad Rasulullah’ engraved into it. I was not talking about what is written on this flag (I already knew what was on it, and that shahada was already used for some flags and on some clothes during medieval area), but about these two flags... with exact same colors, size, proportions.

And I don't know anyone who would like play ERE or HRE with the nazi svastika instead the Roman Eagle, depsite of Svastika is a greco-roman-indian symbolistic.

I was wondering if the flags the islamists used are historically sourced or not, especially the first one.

this flag has been used ever since from the 8th Century by the Muslims!!! specially by the first 4 Islamic Caliphate and then was adopted by the Abassid Caliphate and other Caliphate that has been formed.
