    Default questions potpurri

    1) how do you defeat those units which are effective against armor and are effective against cavalry? many of those units are very well armored, so with missiles might be quite difficult.

    2) there are some units that uses spears or crossbows, but in their info it doesnt appear the bonus against cavalry or the anti armor one. so, it means that unit doesnt have that bonus?

    3) which is the best unit specific class? for example, riterbrudders for heavy sword infantry, or lancers for heavy cavalry.

Many factions get some form of light infantry that has "bonus v. armor." Usually an axeman for Eastern European groups such as Hungary and Lithuania and the Rus factions. The Iberian peninsula and Byzantines both get good javelin companies that have high-damage ranged attacks, decent melee damage, AND are lightly armored (since +v armor means less armor is less damage for some of these units). The Egyptian and Seljuk forces have enough missile cavalry to run any infantry company around the field all day long and whittle them down slowly, or decent light swordsmen such as the Ghazis.

The West Europeans have it hardest, since even their +v armor units are usually armored themselves. For France, England, the HRE, or the Crusaders (who are stylistically West European, nevermind the geographic difference), your best hope is usually some good crossbowmen and a unit of militia to pin them in place. Crossbows are great at armor pierce just because of the base damage, but you need something to keep the targets standing there for a while. Militia are cheap and disposable, and the lack of armor means they're fairly durable against anti-armored units.

1.1- The best way to win battles in SS is to break the enemy's morale as soon as possible. Flank the enemy, use flaming missiles, kill the general- try to avoid straight fights as much as possible. The best unit to take on armoured troops are javelins, however crossbows are good as well.

1.2- Depends upon the unit stats. Go to export_descr_units & check the parameters. 'ap' refers to armour piercing; all bonuses associated with said unit are also mentioned.

1.3- Ritterbruders, both mounted & dismounted, are great. Spahis are the best missile cavalry after the Mongol Nukeri. I always use light infantry & try to maintain a 1:40 ration between my Knights & other combatants in my army- at least until the late 1300s. It's more realistic that way.

2.1- descr_events has the full list of all scripted events. You can even change the dates if you want.

2.2- export_descr_buildings has the list. IIRC citadels come at 26000, Fortresses at 15000, Large cities at 25000...

Crossbows, javelins, guns (if you have them). Archer militia isn't gonna cut it, although the stronger archer units can still do significant damage against heavily-armored units. Otherwise, use cavalry to charge these units from the back.

    2) there are some units that uses spears or crossbows, but in their info it doesnt appear the bonus against cavalry or the anti armor one. so, it means that unit doesnt have that bonus?
If the unit card does not show a bonus, it means that the bonus does not exist on the primary weapon. Crossbows (and longbows) don't have AP bonuses; they have really high attack values that compensate for it. However, bonuses on secondary weapons are not shown. For example, the Rus bodyguards and yeoman archers have AP mace secondary weapons that they use in a melee. Check the EDU for a complete description.

    3) which is the best unit specific class? for example, riterbrudders for heavy sword infantry, or lancers for heavy cavalry.
Entirely subjective because of availability, cost/upkeep, era available etc. For example, Scholarii are the strongest heavy cav before the gothic armor dudes (gothic knights, lancers, Genoese patricians) appear. However, you can only recruit Scholarii from one settlement so you might end up using Latinikon instead. If you really want to compare units, then go to http://www.stainless-steel-mod.com/ and see which units have the shiniest stats.

    1) which are the scripted events or where can i find them?
data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_events.txt for the active copy that SS runs.

    2) how many population i need to upgrade me settlements? i know that whent the bigger the settlement, the larger the people are required to upgrade it
    It's actually found in descr_settlement_mechanics.xml

There is no 1450 campaign yet. Someone was making a campaign for it but I can't recall if that project was still being done.

I think that there was a 1450 campaign in earlier version of SS.

in the original teutonic kingdoms game, you could choose to fight in a teutonic castle, the red coloured one. in SS custom battles, it doesnt appear, how do i enable it?

No. You can demolish a guild and another one will become available, however.

Could be several reasons. Resources become more valuable the further they are from your capitol, different merchants have better/worse skill levels, a merchant can grow accustomed to working a certain spot over time (and get a bonus for that), and/or if you have a monopoly on a given resource in the area it can become more valuable (cornering the market
