Don't get your hopes anywhere near skyward though, because Neph never confirmed nor denied that each faction will get it's own Link. I highly doubt that Neph would make one Link for every playable faction, as that seems utterly preposterous. The initial concept of Hyrule TW was of everything going to hell after Link went back in time, and I think this time around he only exist for Custom Battles and Hyrule Historia, like all units for the Ancient Hylians. But like I said, he hasn't denied this, but he also hasn't confirmed this, so don't get your hopes up just yet.

Oh I don't know, considering he is leading the Hylian forces along with Zelda Impa and the sage of light in the final Hyrule historia mission overthrowing majora as seen on Neph's youtube channel I would say that he seems to be alive during the Hyrule historia...

Well, that is dissapointing. The HTW Wiki says theres supposed to be a bunch of Links. It doesn't make much sense to see a ton of Links running around in the campaign, but I think it might be cool if we could see him in customs. He DOES have a unit in the game, as the Rebel faction. It's him and some Hyrulean Knights.

Even if Link was killed off as hinted at in the trailer, that would affect the Hyrule Historia missions, not the freeform campaign.

I suspect you are not privy to the details. The idea was that each faction could potentially get Link, but that only one faction per campaign would, the first to meet the requirements. Nothing preposterous about that.

...well except maybe Link fighting for the most violent factions. That's fairly preposterous, which is why I suggested using Dark Link for those.

But as you say, Neph never said this concept would be for sure the way he eventually incorporates Link in the game.

Good point. Perhaps Neph is considering having a second Link, just as he has many Zeldas?

OK ok, guesing time, Hylia/ancient Zelda was holding link and crying, while the link we have seen in the Hyrule historia mission and the Hero and the villain reveal showed a link hundreds of years later. Its certainly possible that there is 2 links, or that link wasn't actually dead, after all he didn't have any blood on him (that we could see).
