    Default Really Big Question

Do most of you play Rome:Total War and Total War games, or is Rome:Total War just another game in your collection. For me, it's basicly the reason why I upgrade my computer and MTWII will probably be the same. So the question again, is Rome:Total War the game you basicly, spend the most time with, or is it just another game?

I only play Total War games. Between that, modding, school, and sports I have no time nor really any desire to play anything else.

I wish I could have discovered the total war series earlier. I only play RTW with different modifications. Since I discovered RTW other games such as Age of Empires became boring. RTW is the best game. MTW2 will be even better.

I play RTW and Barbarian Invasion most of the time, but sometimes I fire up Heroes 3 or Rise of Nations (Thrones and Patriots) to get some diversity. And of course the occasionally blasting of bots on deck16 with jumpmatch, low gravity and instagib (Unreal Tournament). Can't let the e-reflexes get too dull.

There is something magical about RTW though, there are so many ways to play the game you never get tired off it for more than a short time.

I've tried some recent games too, but none of them really keeps my attention like RTW.

80% of my gaming time I spend playing RTW. The whole reason why I spent 500 Euro to upgrade my PC into a wonder. I am also planning to further upgrade my PC by the time MTW2 comes. That is if my current PC fails to satisfy me when it comes to playing MTW2.

It is probably what I spend 1/3 of my gaming time on, along with Madden 2007 and various games for my Nintendo DS

It goes in phases, sometimes I will play TW more than other games, sometimes not at all.

Total War. Before I described MTW, I use to play different games (Warcraft II - one of my all-time favorites), rarely, I can do it now, too. But I cannot compare any of them, of any type to TW series (one of the reasons, I hate all that magic stuff in strategy games, except WC). Anyways, answering to the question, I don't have a lot of time (big project at work), so it's TW only.

It's on and off. I went from about early '05 to March this year when I upgraded my computer a bit and got BI without playing at all. Since then I still haven't played too much, it tends to annoy me and bore me if I play it too long.

I PLAY NOTHING ELSE BUT RTRPE.

Since I was a teenager who got my first PC in 1984 and played 2D greenscreen crap, and remember the cassette games which took forever to load, and I have always read Livy, Suetonius, Caesar, Homer, Polybius, Appian, Josephus etc, NOTHING COMPARES.

IT IS LIKE GOD CAME DOWN AND GRANTED ME A PERSONAL WISH.

    RTW / RTRPE ROCKS!

The Total War games are amongst my favourites, although I have not played Shogun for a while. Just not enough time as I also like to play other games for variety.

    FPS: FarCry, FEAR
Tactical shooter: Ravenshield, SWAT4 and the original Ghost Recon series
    RTS: AoE2/Conquerors
Other: Splinter Cell series, NHL series

The mounting "e-penis" hysteria and the homogenizing of videogames in general has me fed up. I'm still playing on my lousy GeForce FX 5200, and will upgrade only when MTW2 comes out. I might give Oblivion a try, and perhaps a couple of others, but that's it. I think when Vista hits, the future of games and I will part ways. I ought to spend more time reading, anyway.

As for the present, I'm roving between DarthMod, Doomsday (www.doomsdayhq.com), American Conquest (Their ACW expansion is pretty decent, and an awesome Napoleonic mod is supposed to be out pretty soon), and my 8/16-bit collection. MTW2 is the only "cutting-edge" product that deserves further investment, in my eyes. I tried to like Far Cry, and I'll play Painkiller every now and then, but for the most part this technology race is a superficial, huge waste of time and money.

I've always been intrested in strategy games. I used to have all the AoE's even the first one that was a bit sucky bit still. My folks got me RTW for christmas and I fell in love with it. I don't play anything else now. It's the best game I have ever played.

Regularly playing EUIIAGCEEP , somewhat regularly playing SP:W@W, SP:WWI and SP:MBT, just went back to RTW (RTRPE, actually) a few days ago ...
