    Default Greek Recruiting system?

My question is when you play as Sparta. You have defeated for excemple Athens. Are you able to recruit some Athenian units like RS II did? or not

That would be cool I guess

I assume you won't be able to recruit the unique athenian units, just like in the other games.

NOPE! The only units that will be unique is mercenaries. So look at the map provided by CA, it lists mercenaries by regions

And in the given scenario, they wouldn't even be unique mercenaries. Sparta and Athens have the same mercenaries.

Area of Recruitment is probably something that needs to be added. I don't think it should be too hard, just don't quote me cause I haven't modded yet. CA already has an AoR like system in the fact that you can't recruit core-units like legionaries/phalangites/hoplites/etc while you are campaigning in enemy territory. The problem is that an AoR of this level may require custom scripts, which is something I haven't seen in a post-Empire game, at least not to my knowledge.

I wonder for example if instead of taking the province as your own you make Athens as a client state. In Shogun 2 (and NTW) when you make a region a vassal you will be given a free unit. Will Rome II make it so that you will receive a special instead of unique unit ? The unit will not be recruitable of course.

I doubt this is in the game and it isn't so simple this time around. Sure in Napoleon and S2 they had it, but each faction didn't have many unique units and usually they just gave you line infantry/ashigaru anyway.

What I mean to say in Rome II you'll get some specific unique units when you make a faction your client state. Maybe not the most elite but hopefully unique enough but not recruitable. Maybe as Sparta you'll get Athenian Hoplite if making Athens your client state.

I'm going to assume there will be region specific units, that you'll be able to recruit, but not units you can 'take-over' from defeating Athens for example.

Considering there's a culturalization system there might be an AOR system but it might be basic with faction specific units not being available in the AOR system.
