Default Possible DLCs for Rome 2

As we all know there will be DLCs and many of them for sure.
The suppose of this topic is for everyone guess about the Possible DLCs that Rome 2 will have and see that how accurate is our "imagination" after the game released "Gold Version".
This is a fight between imagination and reality to see how good we(TWCers) are at guessing. For sure the list will have some ideas that never become reality but they can also served as mod's idea if by chance a modder feel like taking a challenge and pursue one idea in this topic.

I will break the DLCs in to some catalogs and will add everyone guess and ideas as long as they make sense at least about historical
Let's start everyone.(I will rep to the person who give the idea that become real when that DLC come out, for everyone feel free to rep that guy too, I will note the guy's nick and post next to the idea if that not my idea )

They've already made several (Greek city states, an upcoming unit pack of some sort)... as for what DLC's they'll make, only your imagination is the limit really.

As I said this topic is for everyone contribute. I never said that the first list are all possible DLCs, they are just my guess. I will add everyone's ideas into that list till the day a Gold version come out on sale

Apart from faction packs, there should also be historical battle packs as DLCs. There were many notable battles from that time period that they could work on, and some that they could even recycle from Rome I.

never thought of it before but sound good, they somewhat real in a period of history. I can see the possibility that they can appear in game if not as DLCs unit then they can come a long with a Campaign DLC like Troy for the Myrmidons.

I hope they abandon the special unit DLC's...ugh. If I buy the Seleucid DLC then have to pay extra for Silver Shield Pikemen or something like that, I'm done with CA.

Gladly. These ones should make some great inclusions, other from the ones already covered by CA (Teutoberg forest and the other one in Egypt):

    Land battles:

Battle of Magnesia (190 B.C.) between Rome and Seleucids - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Magnesia
Battle of Tigranocerta (69 B.C.) between the Roman Republic and Armenia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tigranocerta
Battle of Carrhae (53 B.C.) and Battle of Rhandeia (58 A.D.) between Rome and Parthia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Carrhae and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_...le_of_Rhandeia

    Naval battles:

Battle of Ebro River (217 B.C.) naval battle between Rome and Carthage - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Ebro_River
Battle of Actium (31 B.C.) naval battle between Rome and Egypt - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Actium

I included your idea in first post but I have to say that if they already in main game you won't get rep for guessing the DLCs(you will still get my rep since they in game)

    -Mythology campaign.
I'd like to see something a bit more outlandish and see DLC that adds mythology to a new campaign which starts quite some years earlier, perhaps 500 BC.

In addition to all normal forces, temples to the various gods enable you to train mythological creatures. Their strenght would determine at which tier of the temple they become available and how many you can have.

Centaurs would be elite horse archers with unmatched mobility, large cyclopses could hurl rocks as living siege weapons, A unit of anubites could leap towards their enemies with sickles in each hand, Giants from the North could crush puny humans that get in their way, sea serpents, krakens and other sea creatures can break ships apart, and epic heroes could be around as special generals and with unique bodyguards. They'd give a huge morale boost and would have unique properties that match them.

Ever since I saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A17oUv0E-N4 intro from age of mythology, I have wanted to see large scale battles like that. Well a bit more organised, but it would provide some interesting and original gameplay, would surely be an original idea for an expansion.

I believed that CA said they will only make Total war series based on history. Sorry but no Mythology campaign for you.

Barbarian invasion will be a stand alone expansion.

As for DLC you can pretty well garuntee the Seleucids and Baktria will become playable at some point, (I noticed in the lastest preview there was a section for factions on the campaign selection screen called 'Successor Kingdoms', presumably the Seleucids and Baktria will be found there at a later date), as well as smatterings of extra special units etc.

I would wager at some point there will be a story driven Caesar mini-campaign.

So far as the more obscure factions/events/wars go id say that will NEVER EVER EVER happen.

Looking at the way CA divided the factions on the faction select screen I think they're going to release packs for the existing categories and add extra categories such as:

    Greek Colonies (Bosphorans, Cyrene, Massilia)
North of Greek Tribes (Illyrians, Dacians, Thracians)
    Horsemen Tribes
    African Tribes
    Iberian Tribes
    Arabian Tribes

    - Hannibal - Punic Wars DLC
    - an additional historic battle DLC
    - an additional custom battlefields DLC
    - hopefully a special units DLC nonetheless

    Some thoughts:
    - And Helvetii were Celts, not Gauls I think. But this is good, because this could mean a lot more celtish units by a Helvetii DLC (we don't have any central europe celts playable yet)

    - Getae is a Dacian tribe I think

    - CA won't do any mythological or fantasy DLCs for sure, so please keep on track

I am fully agree with this.....when I saw this detail in every single photo showed a hoplite styled unit it comes to my mind.....ok CA this can't be serious, you are the laziest team all around the world, because you don't want to do things properly and pretend every shield to be the same....No an Aspis is not holded like a tureo or a scutum !!!!!!! for God sake..... am I the only one concerned about this ?

I not put on packs because they cover too much and some of faction can be set in 2 or more group at once

about myth DLCs I think some unit like Myrmidon, Amazons still have a chance, but not centaur or anything half human half beast.
